I was initiating a battle in Owari (the province with 2 bridges) when I recieved help from some allies. When I played the battle, my allies started on the wrong side of the river but next to the river which meant the defenders imediately whent to stop them and I had a clear run over the bridges. neadless to say I won easily.

Today the same happened but I was doing the supporting. The area staked out for me did indeed overlap the river but I thought the attackers couldn't choose the position of their troops? Can they? If so how? I've tried doing what I do to position defenders before the start but nothing happens. WHY???? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/confused.gif

I had this happening, too, about 2 or 3 times since I played MI. My attacking army appeared on the same side as the defense army. The AI then immediately moved away from the bridge.

I guess it has something to do with the directions coming for the two attacking army. If they come from two complete different direction, then it might be reasonable to let one appearing on the same side. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

I've just realised I didn't make it clear, When I was attaking with my allies and they were where I usually start, I WASN'T on the other side of the river, I still had to cross the bridge.

Sry. for thet missunderstanding.
