I really dont understand what you need to invaade other countries through sea...

I managed to do it once, I think you need a trading post, a port and a shipwright and at least 3 ships in the area of your port or something?

I've read the manual (paperback one -gotta loe paperback http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif) but tis very unclear about certain things http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif.

please xplain it step by step .

Thanks.

If you tell me how to get to the most high-tec shipdocs I'll tell you. (At some point it says a compass is needed and I thought it had already been invented so what's the deal? In what year was the compass invented?

ok u need a port in the province you intend you attack from and at least one ship in each sea lane up to and including the enmy province ( any ENEMY ships will act as blockades )
so if you wanted to lanch an invasion of scotland from say aquitaine then you would need a port at aquitane and ships in the bay of biscay, the english channel, and in the north seas
any enemy ships or ships belonging to the owners of scotland will automatically form a blockade
be aware however that once you successfully launch an amphibious assault troops are stuck there unless there is a port to ferry them back out

Well you need a port to launch the invasion from. The rest is the same as trade,an unbroken line of boats.Oh and there must'nt be any enermy ships along the cost line that you intend to invade,so you might have to fight a sea battle or two first.
Manuals not very clear on that one.

One more thing. If there's no port on the enermy province, then you'd better win or you'll lose the whole army.

Hi,

OK, here it is:

1. Build one ship for each sea area you will have to pass through.

2. Launching province must have port. Target province doesn't need a port, but if you end up fragging the port during the conquest it'll be 3 years before that army can leave the province by sea. (Of course, if you can move into an adjacent province and leave that way, then that's no problem.)

3. NO enemy ships can exist in any of the sea areas you're tracing the invasion through. It doesn't matter if you have 50 ships and they have 1, they'll still block you.

That's it. (I think. )

Triple post....never seen it

What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

Hi,

Sorry for the tripple post. If flood control hadn't been on I think you'd only have seen one. (It kept _I THOUGHT_ not registering my "Submit," so I'd wait and hit Submit again. Geez.)

Thanks for being so clear ,
I thought that an unbroken line of ships were just ships laying side by side without any space in it http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/redface.gif, dumbass me.

I think the campaign is very hard, but the Danes have it very easy with the vikings and all, doing much better now http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif.

Think I'll invade England now http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif.
