The main goal

Our main goal should be like that in common situations balanced armies wielded by the experienced should prevail over non-balanced armies (wielded by the experienced).

This should be adressed for the sake of the longlivity of the game.

A perfect love

We love this game and its concept and like to play it for many months, even years. At least to teh next improved version of tw. We know its marketing-politics to add features like 100+ units and all, being able to kill 10000 of soldiers, with massive graphics. it looks nice on teh box, it sells good but i refuse to think that a developer only makes a game for the money. If u spent so many time making something than u would love to see people using/playing with it for a very long time.
Players and developers love this game.

Some statements/observations

The formulas of the valour-upgrades are really odd in our opinion. We have seen the MAA and alan merc discusions. and there are more of these units. (vikings fanatics urban militia and so on)
Resulting for MP online into a rush type of game for the next months when more people notice how to do these upgrade tricks.
People might say lower teh florin amount (5k for example) and there will be less overpowered units. BUT when doing this u will notice that the routlikeness of teh units increases to that of the old 3k battles in old shogun. Play Lordted. Its a freaking gamble of who breaks first. one breaks all breaks.

Why would u take archers or even horsearchers if they cant inflict enuf damage to have a chance pay themselves back?
The fact that a developer looses to an all cav horsearcher based army to our Khan doesnt say that -horse-archery is balanced.

Why would ever peasantry based units fight better then knights?

How the hell can units gain valour during the battle? imo a soldier rethinks the battle when he is laying in his bed. so adding experiences to his life, and not that fast during a bloody battle. Remember the old-kensai trick of buying a h0 kensai and it grows fast to h2 and up to h5.

Make archery (not for any kind) more effective. But lower the range of teh crossbows. Its silly to see that a crossbow shoots like the old-musket (firing thru a unit) but having a range of a normal bow at teh same time. In general u enlarge the arc of teh bow to increase range. this is not natural for crossbows.
Give crossbow alike units the same range ratio between crossbows/bowman as it was in st MI with the korean crossbows.

Some solutions could be.

Different stats range for MP and SP by adding a column to the crus-.txt file.

Valour upgrades only adds morale, and lower the costs for it.

And(/or?) cap non-elite units to h2-h3

Valour increases only after a battle, not during it. This counts for sp and mp.

Shorten the range of teh crossbow )pavise-alike), make archery more effective.

History and the future
----------------------------------------
History of this series has shown that we get 2 patches max.
We have a patch soon which adresses for mp mainly the online interface bugs.

After 1 month from now we have a good idea whats really wrong with the mp-online balance. Till that time the developers can read our post and start thinking about what is wrong.

Therefore our task should be to collect all facts like some mizus already did. Also when rhe replay option is bugfree relevant replayfiles could help us convincing the devs.

One problem may arise, as history shown already, the devs may be busy at that time with the add-on/new version of tw. And this will be used as an excuse.

Sorry for those who have a nice win ratio now online. beating up newbees and (new to online vets) with overpowered armies is nice, Its nice to beat a guy up which u hardly could have beaten by skill. But u will know that the other will adapt and when teh logfile and replay option is working, he will chance his army and eventually all armies will be the same (rushbased).

We left out the honour-competition but this doesnt mean that there aint no competition online.

Cheetah, this topic was severely damaged. You need to copy posts from UBB into this one. There may be some more topics like this, since CGI files were used to generate these topics.
