"If her faction is eliminated you may gain some claim to her lands", it says. Has anyone EVER had this happen? Similar events in STW were fun and sometimes extremely helpful.

No.
And it pisses me off http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/mad.gif

It should happen to the player too when their king dies.

having played this game for months now i can safely say - NONONONONO

absolutely not. Fistly its hard enough getting a princess to marry into your line.

Second it just doesn't happen, i don't think the event even exists.

Ok so I'm pleased about the patch, so I'll play CA defender...Maybe it just means you've got a right to claim the land, or can attack it if the king dies without the usual "I'M GONNA CUT YOU OFF & SEND THE HORDES OF THE ALMIGHTY AFTER U IF YOU DON'T BACK OFF..." from ol' popey.

Mind you I've never conciously tried the above, so I'm not sure if it's got legs & can run on not.

So defence over, NO it doesn't happen, & yep its a real pisser. IF it works on the STW basis

Anyone thought to ask CA?

ANYONE @ CA WHATS THE DEAL? WHERE'S MY FREE LAND!!!

I've never inherited anything. Usually when a faction folds up there is nothing left to get. The victors tend to keep what they conquered. I suppose it could come about upon the death of an heirless king when a civil war could break out. A rare thing that.

Never ever which raises the other threads point, why bother with marriages??

(apart from the odd alliance through them)

Actually, there was a thread a little while back (that I cannot find now, so I guess it had been deleted), where somebody had the inheritance thing happen in a game. I believe there was a civil war, and some of his provinces did not turn rebel, but rather came under the control of a faction (Aragonese, iirc) that he married his princess to earlier in the game.
