View Full Version : BN & Auto resolve
I find that when we outnumber the AI who has quite a few BN, we better use auto-resolve. It produces a much better outcome.
BN on the battlefield are much stronger than their "value" assigned in auto-resolve calculation. They could hold 300 men and kill 100 before they finally decide to run! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Maltz - agains't BN - use cavalry. They won't get high kill numbers then!
Qapla!

interesting http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gifpoint ,but why autoresolve?something i never do.Oh well everbody to there own http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
I quite agree. Autoresolve just because the computer might get a few more kills? I'm sure you have no qualms about splattering the enemy with Kensi and BN. At least give them a chance to get some revenge! If you're any good though you should be able to deal with it anyway http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif.

lol@giving the AI a chance with its own BN and such...
incidentally, if you play the later campaigns, the "ronin island" province with the castle contains a legendary sword dojo; just pop your emissary over (best if you play mori or shimazu) and buy the banner in it, and you can get kensai very early on.
Nope I wasn't telling you autoresolve is more fun, or cavalry is not effective against BN.
I once had 3 YC surrounding 1 BN in 120 degree angle, and got slaughtered till each group was left 40 when the BN finally perished.
The most effective way against BN in my own experience is to "ignore them". Let them target my missle troops - while I rout the rest of the enemy. When that happens (and pretty fast it happens), BN will rout, too. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif
Each to his/her own I suppose, I just enjoy the challenge.
