First of all this is not a total overhaul of the Medieval files, it is a campign, not a complete MOD of Medieval, so its not going to take monthes to complete. The title says it all really, its a campaign depicting the Norman Invasion of England in 1066.

I have started it just now and it will probably be ready by I'd say, Wednesday or Thursday for the first Beta version before been playtested more and "going gold". However of coarse there is the slight problem of the community shifting from Medieval to the Viking Invasion, which is why I have decided to make one for both the original MTW and the add-on pack, clearly the Viking Invasion is an advantage to the Norman Invasion as it unlocks Scandanavia (Hardrada and Tostig, the Danes), the North of France (Normans) and much larger Britain which will make the battle for England much more interesting then fighting for the five or so regions it currently holds, but even so, the Norman Invasion will be released on MTW as well considering the original campaign remains on the Viking Invasion and so should be compatible.

So by the title it's obvious about the settings but who is involved?

The Normans (Burgundians, clearly used because edittin their name won't screw other campaigns up as the Burgundians don't even feature in any other campiagns)
The Anglo Saxons (England, King Harold controls this kingdom, highly likely it will simply remain to be known as England rather than Anglo Saxons)
The Danes (Obviously they'll stay as the Danes, they will be lead by King Hardrada and his heir will most likely be Tostig the untrustworthy brother)
The French (Again its obvious, they'll be France, these are the people lead by the King who was defeated twice by William Duke of Normandy)

I currently do not know what I will do with the other factions, they will more than likely either remain but not be playable or be taken off and turned into rebels, or maybe some will be playable.

Like I said its not a complete overhaul, but I do intend to try and add some new units to the game, clearly they'll share their BIF's with already created ones but just have different attributes because I can't make unit animations even if I tried so I will not waste time trying, but I will try and make some unique Danish, Norman and Anglo Saxon units, especially Norman ones seen as Burgundy aren't exactally a faction with their own units.

The game starts in 1066, the English King is Harold Godwinson, the Danish King is Hardrada and the Norman Duke is William the Conqueror, other Kings I haven't researched yet so I can't confirm them.

I may edit some of the Loc/Eng files to give it a more Norman feel, I may even add some voice files seen as I have a microphone and can create WAV files, but that may have to wait for a version update, I doubt it'll be in the beta release or the first proper release.

The Viking Invasion invasion version I can safely say will be alot better because of its map so wait for that, but I will leave you now and go continue work.

Good to hear.

How did you go with your last mod. What was it?? The Dark Ages or something. that sounded cool. I never saw it on the downloads or anything?

did you want a lukmap of england/northern france and denmark?

i made one ages ago, but never got arround to finishing the mod. It was made just for a norman conquest of england too... with vikings expansion being able to support more than one campaginmap, then if we can get all the provience info sorted out there could even be a whole new map http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

The Dark Ages at the moment is still on, its in my files somewhere but after a major shuffle around with my computer I dont know exactally where, since I lost that I've spent more time messing with the files so now I can make a new unit within two or so hours, obviously not with new animations that is beyond me but I am alot better with the files now.

Alrowan that would be absolutely awesome, my e-mail is samandshirley@splaxton.fsnet.co.uk so just drop me a line, so far its going pretty well, lots of new units idea's.
