To prove that you are saying the truth I propose for you to describe exactly what came with the game, what was inside the box, to scan your CD, manual cover or do whatever you can to sound genuine Since the release dates are different for US and EU, I also propose to divide the title accordingly, and create two respective categories.

From what I have been told the 6th was the ship date or release from the publisher date but it takes a day to get from the publishers or wearhouses to the stores. For what its worth every store I have called said they will have it on the 7th.

Coming up for air.....I love this game Played a little as Vikings in campaign and some battles as Welsh and Irish. Graphics look as good as ever. New music that fits very well. New armies, so learning what to select and how to use them, always love that. In the campaign found myself taking the islands while building up for an invasion. And you can build a Pagan Shrine that boosts morale.
And how surprised was I to assault a Pict fort only to see the face of Big King S....

i finaly got the fookin CD key to work


i recommend a completely fresh install of MTW followed by Vi then DX9.

1. i uninstalled MTW

2. i reinstalled MTW

3. i didnt test it or apply the old cd key or 1.1 patch

4. i installed VI

5. when asked i put DX9 on

works like a fecking dream

PS. my highlander unit took out a bezerker unit with only 3 losses, bezerkers where val1 my highlanders where val2

Different packaging I see. The UK got it in a DVD case, the US got it in a cardboard box with a CD case.

I've yet to take on the Scots in my campaign though we are staring at each other across the border since I wiped out the Picts. My Vikings have discovered that the rich lands of southern England is the place to be for all the good plunder. Yes I finally scored my copy of Vikings at the Local Wal-Mart of all places they only had 4 copies. Does anyone no for sure if DX9 is a must to play ? I am staying with dx 8.1 as my vid card does not support dx9 I will hope for the best. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I got conflicting information on the DirectX 9 question. I believe somewhere during the install it says you need DirectX 9 to play VI but in the manual it said 8.1 or higher was needed. I'd go with what the install routines says though.
