Well, I've owned the STW Warlord Edition for well over a year now, but I have to admit that I've never played that MI campaign until yesterday, and I completed it with the Mongols within 2 or 3 hours. After I conquered the two lesser islands I didn't have to fight one single battle until the the Hojo were down to two provinces, they just kept retreating instead of putting up a fight. Now, I find that a bit lame, I can only imagine how easy it must be to win playing as the Japanese defenders, just beat the Mongol army after they've arrived and then just sit back and shift your massive forces wherever the Mongols make landfall. Hojo get good starting generals too, from what I've seen...
I'm curious how this situation has been perceived in the community when MI came out..?

Pretty much the same http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif. However, if you lay it hard I believe you may get some trouble in the end since the khan stops sending reinforcements. Playing as Hojo is easier, you just withdraw from the western part and max out on the 2 chkepoints, and keep some large armies back for the raids n center of Japan...

Check out the download section, there are pretty hard Mongol campaigns there.

Thanks for the replies, although I don't like installing mods for some reason, i might give it a try in this case. I'm not really good at clicking quickly in battle, but there's always the pause key in SP http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif So bring it on, Mongols http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
