View Full Version : Pick your leaders

This is a spinoff from the Generals thread I started. Same concept though and same rules. If all the world's leaders from the beginning of time to now were available to lead or aid in the leadership of your nation, who would you choose?

My first selection is Catherine the Great of Russia.

Hey Demon of Light, didn't you have an Inquisitor picture next to your posts before? How did you change that? (or is it a mild ranking system based on how many posts you have)

As for my leader, well it has to be henry the 5th or the Edward the Black Prince

As an assistant, I think I would want to consider Sir Thomas More.

While not particularly known for any military abilities, he had a quality of integrity that could be valuable in an assistant that understood his character.

He didn't play games, but recognized full well that all about him were, and that this was the nature of politics. He was intellectually honest, and refused on pain of death to even pretend to change his opinion for the sake of political correctness.

A leader that shoots the bearer of bad news wouldn't get anything out of having a man like More around, but someone who also doesn't play political games would do very well with such an assistant.

Of course, that still leaves the problem of finding such a leader, but perhaps one of you will choose Diogenes* and we can team up.

* Diogenes:

Hello Antique http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif I say welcome to the Org. This may be a wild guess, but I gather you'll be wanting to hang out in the Colosseum forum. Just post here a little bit and you'll soon have posting rights there. If there is any topic in the Colosseum you want to reply to, just post it here and let us know which topic to copy it into.
