Hello, I know I spelled my title wrong, but dont correct me. I am NOT talking about the forum here, but the place. I think It should take a long time to build because it could hold 50k people in it. I also think you should be able to host water battles that would increase population support but cost alot of money. You should also be able to build it to raise morale like a golden palace in STW. Sorry if my spelling is wrong.

I would expect that colosseums will exist on upgradable levels, starting with a basic ampitheater and ending with something massive, like the one in Rome today. Colosseums should have a happiness-increasing effect on a province.

Personally i would say that it should give a moral bost because its not a miltary building. But thats just my opinion http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I agree, I think the ampitheaters/Colloseum should boost happiness in the province rather than troop morale. Brothels should boost morale for the troops. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

You're thinking Naumachia here - arena dedicated completely for naval battles. And yes it should cost tons of money. Augustus build one in Rome and had to build entire aqueduct to supply it with enough water

This kind of spending would have normally angered the stingy Romans, but Augustus build the aqueduct form a lake which water tasted really bad - so he said afterwards: we might as well dump the water to my Naumachia.
Cunning man.

Wasn't the one in Rome suitable to hold water? I was thinking that they had a system to flood the center with some water there as well...

It should improve troops; when there weren't fights on they were used for places for troops to train.

The Colloseum could be flooded to stage gladitorial naval battles as well. It didn't exist though in Caesar Augustus' reign. Construction of the Colloseum started in 72 A.D. during the reign of Vespasian, and was completed in 80 A.D. during the reign of Titus.

Augustus was the 1st Emperor of Rome, Vespasian was the 9th and Titus was the 10th.

troops should recieve a moral boost if the city/province they're in(or were last stationed) has a brothel, instead of if it was in a place were they were trained.

It seems like anything more than a population only bonus would be silly
