How would i go about making topless archers and cavalry units like the Celtic warriors. Could anyone give me a short guide to how the textures folder works,i'd be very grateful.

Read Wellingtons animation guide for starters.
Then you need to add a sprite to the toplessloon_H.bif
in textures , that shoots a bow . As for cavalry well you will need to make a whole new set of sprites as no cavalry
animations I'v seen so far are topless.

We want one for some of the native American tribes
so if you ever do one let us know.
I hope someone does before we have to. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Could you please tell me how to this? I managed to get them topless but can't get them to stand and shoot as the animation goes weird. I used the Celtic Warriors' animations for idle, walk, fight etc. so there is no problem there.

Did you read wellingtons guide?

You open the bif with bifreader
and extract the frames as bmps and
edit the bmps
you extract from the bif in
a graphic editor
(e.g. photo shop)

Wellingtons animation guide is in the stickies
it explains the principles.

Nothing has changed from mtw in this respect

READ the guide then ask me the questions.
I promise it will be easier that way.
