I got the expansion on May 9 (my birthday) and I just got around to playing a standard campain. I decided to try out the organ gun in custom battle after reading about them in the manual. I did a battle where I had 3 valor 4 organ guns verses a unit of dismounted knights (I forget what kind). I clicked the go button and eagerly set up my gun. The knights were advancing and I was getting very excited and finnally the knights came into range. I clicked for them to attack and then... IT SHOOTS A FREAKIN CANNON BALL Personally i expected something more along the lines of a machine gun (a man can always hope).
I changed the states to shoot one ball a second and raised the number of shots to 100. I then took away its blast and made its stats about aquivalent to a arquibussier(sp)
This is the way i think they should have been made

It wasn't a machine gun. The whole idea of it was to fire all barrels at once, showing the target with a rain of shot. It would then take a LONG time to reload all the barrels for another volley. Making it fire once every second is not terrribly realistic. I'd say the default shot is represented by a cannon ball because they don't have a 'multiple shot' graphic. A 'single cannonball' with a blast effect is more realistic.
Even better would have been to make it fire with the arquebus stats, but pretend it was a unit of 10 arquebusiers, not one. Probably not doable with the engine.

A rSo the cannon ball represents all the shots... that makes sence. I have it shoot 1 per second because its like each barrel fireing seperately (it would be more realistic if it fired 2 a second, but after 20 shots it took a while to reload, but i dont think thats possible, so im sticking to this)

Played a custom game with 3 organ guns vs 4 units of byz infantry. The organ guns kicked ass, killing over half and causing all to flee. I think that these will rock in defensive battles against the ai. very much looking foreward to trying out a few defending a river crossing. Can't see them being used much in mp though.

How effective was it Psyco, and what did it look like?
- I've often thought of moding the arquibussiers to fire 1 shot per second and trying them in a custom battle as machinegunners just for a laugh. Too lazy though....

Try having 8 or 9 units of SP and SAP and attack a castle with you having say 1 Byzantine Inf,1 Bulgar Brigs,1 Arquebusiers and 4 or 5 organ guns. You will win,and the organs cause horrendous damage.
Im not saying that they arn't good, it just doesn't make sense that they shoot a cannon ball. I dont think it would have been that hard to make them shoot like a 20 or so arqubussiers(sp).

Does it do impact on hte ground like a cannonball too? like a single strike with dirt flying up?
If not then a graphic of buckshot might've been nice
