With VI desyncing seems to be major game killer and is brought on many times by players quitting a battle. This I think will make quitting a rather serious offence especially early in a game if you get done but there are other players still going. You kill a game, noone likes that at all and may not play with you.
So please folks see games through or use that bit of time to grab a beverage or relieve yourself before the next battle if it's really THAT boring.
At least until the first patch anyway http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I think that we should warn everyone before the game starts and tell them noone should quit. And if there are people who quit often ignoring any warnings, they should be listed somewhere so that other players can also ban them. Here in this forum perhaps???

This forum is a bad place to put lists of players that cheat or drop because this forum is a neutral meeting ground and not all reports of dropping are correct.
The best place to put such a list is at a clan forum.
Hopefully this wont be necessary.
Quitting was a serious offence be4 too IMO ...
And I always ban the quitters always did always will http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif

U mean the game crash if an already eliminated player leave?

that's what i hear, but I have played several where a dead player leaves and all runs fine.
So far, seems no more a chance of crashing the game than in MTW

if the guy routs and none of his men rally then he can quit.
maybe 2-3 games havent stalled when sum1's quit for me.
mostly noobs quiting but i have noticed one vet who quit but i wont mention his name.
I think a host should say it in the beginning before the game starts and if everybody agrees not to quit then the game should start. And as I said earlier if some specific people quit often despite the agreements before the game we should inform each other (ur right, this forum is not the right place tough) so that everyone can ban these people. I'm talking about quitting, not dropping (although people can drop un purpose instead of quitting). I'm thinking this way because I also think that quitting is now a serious offence.

To quit without causing crash, it looks like a player must have no units on map.
So, I am not sure that routing is enough...
This point need to be further tested.
Main problem with that is, newcomers in the community won't be aware of that, and that will cause resentment... Old timers will only play with people they know, etc...
With good behavior, it looks like crash can be avoided...
Louis,
I revived this old post because new players are still quitting games and crashing them.
If you play MP please don't quit when defeated as it will crash the game
Maybe after all of your men have left the field it is OK, but as new player stick around and learn by watching the guys who routed you

Kanuni thats why i call my games "... no quitters please" but it still doesnt work. a pain in the arse is still a pain in the arse...
quitting after "please wait while battle is being resolved" *something like that* msg pop up should be fine I think. Some may thought their army were routed, but didnt know they are still rally-able until this msg come up, and quitted.
Anyway why should we be blaming people quitting the game when their games are over? The dropping/out-of-sync is entirely a game design flaw.
