making movies out of replays?

Does anyone know if there is a mechanism by which a game replay could be output to an MPG or similar portable format?

Capturing the display console would be perfectly valid. Any ideas anyone?

could use fraps, or seomthing similar - try Fraps homepage (http://www.fraps.com/)

or if you have a vid card that supports vivo, output to video recorder and tape it, then import it again - bit clunky, but works http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
