Okay :-

1. I cant get any handguns/arquebusiers after gunpowder is discovered even though I built up to gunsmith guild plus citadel.. what am i missing..?

2. I was wondering if CA thought about dropping princesses on princesses.. hmm.. no comment from game. V&V? How about a female empress?

3. In saved battle replays, can you also save the after battle stats? i think you have to save it separately from the saved replay. Where are the battle stats filed..?

4. What is the panoramic viewer in the downloads directory? Is it for a movie like replay from saved battles?

nice game. i wish my catapaults would throw up gouts of blood when they hit. Like spluuurch. All i see is bits of flying earth.

btw.. are trebuchets any good in non-seige battles? do they really throw cows? (dead ones) Moooooo-o-o-o - o

Hmmm, leat's see...

Q1. Assuming that you have insalled either VI or patch v1.1, gunpowder units will not be available until the so-called late period, regardless of when you construct the necessary buildings.

Q2. Nothing happens. Sounds good in theory, doesn't it? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Q3. Sorry, can't help you, but yes, they are stored somewhere, I think. I'll let someone else handle that one.

Q4. I downloaded it once, but if memory serves me I believe it just allowed you to pan your line of sight around a single still-frame. But I didn't devote much time to playing with it, so fill me in if I've missed something, someone.

Yes, let the blood and offal fly http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif The organ gun pictorially represents a volley of small projectiles as a single, large but very destructive cannon ball. THIS BLOWS http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pissed.gif Couldn't CA have employed a multi-arquebus-type animation for this?

And no, I do NOT find trebs to be any good in non-seige battles.

Do they hurl cows? Ten points for getting one in the well http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Regrettably, the answer is: I've never seen it.

All battle stats are automatically saved in Logfiles folder. If you have enabled it under options that is.

I actually like using siege weapons on some non castle battles, those with bridges in them. aimable weapons are better of course but if you aim the trebuchet at the bridge you can do quite well with it, plus they are easy to kill so you can get rid of them fast and bring on reinforcements when they run out of ammo. (why wait for them to get off the map? send them into battle to die its faster&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

mind you, i tend to prefer hard defensive battles I might lose so I dont mind a handicap like that.

as for 2) it has been wished for many times....

Artillery trained on a bridge in a defensive battle is deadly...

I once routed the Polish army in a river battle and when I pursued their troops across the bridge their two catapults let rip

Lets just say that in the first volley a couple of boulders bouncing down the brige killed my general, the routing enemy troops then rallied and fought back, the battle was nearly lost because of that

So aim trebuchet at bridge huh? Great idea

I usually try to save the valour points of my army
i think its supposed to help
so i dont usually sent the artillery troops in to fight
though they seem to do quite well doing that oddly enough

i wish i could field 50+ units instead of 16 but i guess that would be unweildy

Interesting idea. A female empress would have added to the game me thinks. Anyone remember the movie Elizabeth by Shekhar Kapoor ? Also female equivalents of perversion would have been good.

You can read the logfiles with kill stats using a logfile viewer. There is one on the Wolves clansite. Others actually use their own.

I often use artillery in non siege battles too. For River Crossings I recommend the Catapult over the Trebuchet because it seems less inclined to pitch the rock up high in the air so that it falls on their heads, far better to fire it low like playing Skittles with sacks of ketchup http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif Also the few crew means it quickly gains valour so it fires a lot faster and is much more accurate. Even a Balista well positioned can be effective on bridges, enjoy armoured Kebabs after the battle http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

In non River missions, try hiding artillery in forest behind a secure wall of spearmen at the forest's edge. Any archers that stand arround firing at your spearmen will lose many arms and legs. Horse archers are even more juicy to hit.

My favourite was two well positioned bombard cannons covering a bridge (I was attacking). All the enemy moved forward to block the bridge as I moved near it. Then the cannons opened up http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I swear I saw men flying through the air. After all the ammo had fired (this was pre-VI so they didnt explode) I stormed the bridge and routed them.
