This is mind boggling. I was sitting on a decent treasury , had raided Mierce and won the year before and then the usual taxes coming in. The Vikings invaded Lindissi and I choose to abandon it, province wasn't worth a whole lot and I only had a couple hundred troops there. Vikings of course get the province and 2500 florins get pillaged? The destroyed Abbey would be 1200 I guess, but the rest came from me. Why would I keep all those florins down there? It doesn't make any sense. In the dark ages was it common practice to put all your florins in the least defended province or something? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
I'm fine with the Vikings recieving full cash for things destroyed, but i'm finding out who runs my royal treasury and hanging the guy. More seriously though, why is it like this? I can think of any reason for that much to be down there unless its symbolizing me paying them tribute, but i'd have fought and let the men die before paying tribute, florins don't come easily to the Northumbrians.
