Hi. I am a newcomer playing Shogun and I want to know what do you think the better clan is for full campaing game. I like Takeda because the power of horses but I do not like they are spread over the map at the begining of the campaing. Excuse me but I do not speak english.

I like Shimazu for its No-Dachis (great in offense on battlefield) and Hojos just for the heck of their fame in real Jap history http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
Being a big fan of using height advantage, Cavalries don't really serve me well on these highlands... but they're fun to play with
Takeda. With cheap cav, you can overrun the enemy. Never dismiss the power of speed in battle.

Not sure if there's a "best", but:
A)Hojo is always wealthy -- you generally have a TON of money and plenty of empire power due to the cheap castle cost. A guaranteed win once you're slightly experienced.
B) Uesugi -- similar -- lots of cash, and fighting on only one (major) front.
C) Shimazu is cool, too, because they're on a single front.
I don't think the reduced cost thing (such as shimazu for No-dachi, Takeda for cavalry etc, etc) will really play an important roles in deciding which clan to play, most of players end up testing out all avaiblable ones anyway ...
IMHO, the following might be more important:
The territory you start with -- This is the primary factor of the difficulty of the campaign;
The availabily of high rank heirs and/or generals -- in that case, Takeda is real good since you get to use the legendary Takeda Shingin (rank 6, all troops under his command enjoy +3 honor boost) real quick ...
Get to run, might add more later ...

Better clan? Depends of what your looking for...
Easiest clan? Hojo or Uesugi
Most fun? Takeda
Hardest? For me Mori is the toughest
Oda is for the quick campaign (if you know how to take down the WM early on, Oda is quite easy also) and Shimazu is my choice when i decide to go for the "Christian Experience". Just love to see those priests explose hehehehehe http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
But right now i'm testing out my own campaign, thanks to Hecose campaign editor.

I like the Mori (big surprise there) because of the big start up armies and all the provinces with iron deposits for armories. I mean hey, cheaper monks with armor, how can you go wrong?
Now, with the training dojos you can conquor Kii or Kaga and have cheaper honor 3 monks after a while, then suit them up in armor at another province that supports an armory. There really is nothing like fresh out of the dojo, honor 3 monks with legendary everything!
hi pikitachu, i think the easyest clans are hojo, uesugi and shimazu for theyr position: they fight on only one front; hojo has a very good money and a bridge on takeda's front, uesugi has also good money and big province that allow him to concentrate troops and attack shinano that for me is an important key in that part of japan it allow him also to defend well his front on the 3 hojo's provinces; shimazu also has 1 front, it's the first that can have guns and at the beginning has to fight whit imagawa that has 2 front and so it can't be really strong (at the beginning). hojo has also a province whit iron deposits and shinano also is an important province for armours.
anyway most fun for me are takeda and mori and... as told Gothmog when i take up my clan it's all too simple http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
but... take it as a quite newbie's advice.

The Takeda are probably the most fun clan. They're in a relatively tough starting position: it's easy to get into see-saw campaigns with Hojo over Musashi, expanding into Imagawa's territory risks attacks by Uesugi on your over-extended troops, and siezing Shinano seems to immediately draw Oda in to attack you, leaving you with four fronts (none of the northern clans are very loyal at all)! However, they have the advantage of cheap cavalry, a mine in Kai, and ports at Sagami and Aki (in the standard Sengoku campaign). They can potentially get arqs second, after Shimazu, and the combination of guns and horses is quite deadly, indeed! Even still, the other Northern clans who will be your primary competition are quite rich and hard to finish off. So, Takeda makes for an interesting campaign all around.

I think Shimazu is the hardest, heirs late and very very long campaign with very few resources.
Imagawa is difficult too.

My favorite is Imagawa, because of domain distribution (although mostly poor, gives you some options for attack), starting armies (made up of yari samurai and samurai archers, no bloody ashigaru), the fact that he's surrounded by powerfull clans means lots of battles and because my favorite general, Tokugawa Ieyasu (rank 6), is his heir (too bad he shows up so late in the game).
Of course, I can only discuss this based on STW, since I do not yet own WE/MI.

If your talking about the most challenging the Imagawa clan hands down, especially in the old stw with the higher building costs. You are surrounded by enemies, your starting lands aren't that great, and with your specialty units being shinobi and ninja you have no battle field advantage.

Mori, Mori, Mori
------------------
Life doesn't seem through bad with Led Zepplin floating through the ears
As many have said there is no best clan; it depends on how you want to play. For example with Mori you have to use your starting army to expand quickly, and with Uesegi you struggle to hold on to what you start with, but you have the funds to build improvements and eventually strike out if you can hold on at the start.
Overall I am surprised at the lack of people going for Mori, they rock if you expand quickly at the start. Uesegi and Shimazu are IMO the hardest, especially on the hardest difficulty level.
Of course it's all a matter of personal preference.
If you go for quick expansion, I'll say ANY clan will do.
I find Uesegi pretty easy, with the rich koku and easy access to Sado, Hitachi, and Shinano, and eventually Totomi, the game is a breeze through no matter how.
Shimazu and Mori could be hard. But I do think Mori is even harder for you are essentially fighting a two-front war.
Hojo seems to be the most wealthy...Shimazu seems to be in a more peaceful region...I find the split clans difficut to progress with...Oda has too many ashigaru and too many of those pesky religious-zelout individualistic fundamentalists...Um, I like Useugi...for their gold deposits, easily defended regions and the dark blue color! Pretty little samurai!
