Hey there fans,
I'm hoping you veterans can help me out here..
I just connected my two computers together via ethernet hardware and hoping to play MTW multiplayer on it.
When i try to host a game on computer #1, it says 'local player info not set- unable to proceed.' But i can host on the computer #2 but the game dosen't show up computer #1.
Is there some sort of special set up i need to do for LAN multiplayer? Thanks in advance
Ed

Welcome to the Org smashing_pumpkin. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

If you haven't already, you might try searching the Apothecary and/or the Jousting Field forums for LAN and see what turns up.

smashing_pumpkin,

Go into start, settings, control panel, network and make sure you have the tcp/ip protocol installed on the second machine. Then choose properties, ip address tab, set ip address manually. You should enter an address which has the same subdomains as the other machine which means making the first three 3 digit numbers the same as the other machine. The fourth 3 digit number should be different. You have to reboot the machine to have the changes take effect. You should be disconnected from the internet when doing this unless you are behind a hardware router with network address translation or using a proxy server. If you do have a router or proxy server, you can just have the second machine pick up an address automatically instead of entering it manually.
