Golden Horde looking Anglo-Celtic!

Does anybody here know if there is a way to make the Golden Horde look Asian pagan instead of looking white? I’ve been looking around in MTW “startpos” folder trying to figure how to make changes but can’t figure out yet. Is this fixed in the Viking Invasion addon? Also, how do I add more troops to the Golden Horde when they arrive in 1231? I want my Turkish troops to face a huge Mongol army like around 150,000 to 300,000 when they arrive to make it more challenging. Is it possible to have more Mongol troops re-appear every year or two as reinforcements to their Mongol brethren already occupying Europe between year 1231 to 1240 like the reappearing pope or in STW:MI? Last question, can I get rid of the faction leader for the Golden Horde but still make them as a faction with the Golden Horde faction flag? Genghis Khan and Ogadai Khan were still in Asia when they sent a “small” portion of their army on a scouting mission to Eastern Europe. Maybe they can be led by two non-royal generals that can act as faction leaders on behalf of the Khan: General Jebei Noyon and General Subadai Bahadur? Thanks for any response I get.

Sorry, it is not possible to MOD the number of units the Golden Horde arrive with, that is totally random, they can arrive with 300 or 10,000, it depends, and 150,000 Golden Horde warriors would be way to much they would trample everthing by sheer numbers.

Sorry you can't remove the leader for the Golden Horde, every faction must have a leader, it is however possible, if you wanted to make it more realistic, to change the leaders name from Khan to Grand General or something of that nature, then it would be Grand General Ogedei rather than Khan Ogedei, clearly there would be more than one mongol called Ogedei so it wouldn't cement him as the Khan, simply as the leader of the Western Push

Thanks for the reply. Has the Mongol generals and khan’s potraits changed in Viking Invasion to make them look asian instead of white or has anyone in the Total War community made any mods to fix this? Thank, again

Nope portraits have not changed, this is because their portaits are from the Pagan folder, considering most Pagan factions in Eastern Europe use these then that is why they are so white, but even then they look asian enough to me, to my recollection no one has made a MOD to fix this.

Here's a possible solution. Done it myself - it works in v1.1, haven't tried it on VI, but it should be the same i think:

1) I think the Golden_Horde receives units for a given amount og money when they arrive in 1231. Turn down the unit price in "crusaders_unit_prod.txt" and more units will appear.

2) Increase number of men in each unit(same file). This also make them more "hordy" on the battlefield. Just remember to turn down the upkeep cost, otherwise the Horde won't have any money after a few turns.
