ive seen alot of people complain about the split... so lets do something about it ... or at least try http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

i think ive narrowed the culprit down to this encrypted line of code:

ƒ D4G6% 9 5
6&?R$(.1]bd#% ')+o-/1 3 5t7y9

ƒ E250% > :
8V?Q&+*1]#% ')l+n-/13579

after trial and error of swapping new viking files into the mtw folder and then logging on in mtw, this is the one line that seemed to matter.

its the first part of the logon details file.. the top is from mtw the bottom is from vikings..

when u swap this one file( dont try to cut and past its only part of the file) it will attempt to log you in to vikings, i believe, but for some other reason you get a log on error..

ive tried my viking cd key but the error seems to be occuring before the cd key check..

grrrrrrr http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

ill keep at it... maybe ill get lucky http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

LogonDetails is where we store your cdkey, email, online name, password, and 'remember password' settings. Encrypted, although I amn't sure why (the perceived danger of hackers in public game rooms, most likely). If there's a difference between the two files it's because of a difference in one of those settings.

Unfortunately, the connection details for the GameSpy service are hardcoded within the game. Unfortunately, because if they weren't I could probably tell you how to fix it.

hmmm....

then how come my online name, email address, and pw are all still the same... and i cant swap the file and enter the new cd key...

oh btw... when u do swap the files it gives you a logon error not a cd key error... since all my logon info is still the same then it should work with no problems...

edit-could some1 check these lines of code vs their own and see if they are different?
