View Full Version : we need patch?
well, still many drops, crashes, sync errors, grey outs, relogs, logon probs...
nothing got better, many of us got the feeling that it got worser as it was in MTW....
i wont speak about the balance just about the bugs and real probs.
we need a patch or u think its ok?
we payed once more for the addon, and imo the online play dont got better, i got the feeling that it crashes more now.
all the mentioned problems above are still present and dont got better or fixed.

also grey name must be fixed.
I notice that now when a player esc his army rout from the field and this means total crash http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
The server is like first release of mtw.

hmm...maybe I should wait with buying VI http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
...nah...
Remarkably, VI is VERY comparable to MTW 1.0 in terms of MP stability.

I think we all agree on this.
Im fighting the temptation to return to MTW 1.1 as a way to escape the instability of the 2.0, but CA needs to address our problems ASAP
Well its not as bad as 1.0 but clearly worse than 1.1
CBR
Well IMO if there are 5 crashes, CTDs, drops etc out of 12 games, that's way too much. I wonder how we actually went backwards with this, but anyway the pririty now is to get this fixed ASAP
My first 2 games on VI MP were crashed out.
I sometimes get the feeling that CA don't like us MPers at all, and they want to torture us ?
the only major change that came with VI is vikings and i think i will hardly play them .. apart from that the foyer has become worse than 1.1 in terms of stability and all we got was very minor changes to unit selections .. if you look at the facts i personally think it is a disgrace that we had to pay money for what can only be described as half a patch .. we keep getting the same treatment
i think instead of writing our concerns on this forum maybe we should get together and write them to PC game magazines then when the "TotalWar MP Community" gets a letter published worldwide perphaps CA will change there policy regarding MP support or lack of ..

Hehe, yes it's odd that the single player almost never crashes... one time when my friend played the campaign mode MTW was running 20+ hours straight on my comp... and no crashes. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif
It does crash sometimes when loading custom battles. I guess the problems are with the frontend.

I entirely agree, though suggestions for improvements are taken into consideration, there are not enough of them implemented. Though we have been politely (and not so politely) expressing our frustrations, not enough is done to address our concerns, specially about MP bugs.
The time for polite expression is not over, it's just time to take it above the "soldier" level, perhaps.
personally i dont think there is anything else we can do .. the likes of gil and longjohn giving us info is great but they are just messengers, imo CA are not putting enough hours in towards the end of the project .. like i said before if i handed some java into my old computer science lecturer with the bugs this has i certainly would not expect a top mark .. i played online last night 3 of 6 3v3 battles with mo before i went to sleep ended without making it to the victory screen .. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
There are some serious bugs in the MP games much more than in 1.1 , I basically never had problems in smaller games now even those crash ....
I do have a feeling that viking era games crash less often then other eras , seems that the game cant handle all the stats in the rest of the eras ....

yes i agree with you all, the EA must hear our request http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif .
but i've lost my hope http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif .
Ok, who wants to write that letter to a magazine???
Maybe we should try and write to different magazines, maybe some british, american ones and Sinan writes to GameStar whilst I tell him the german words when he can't find the right ones.
that magazine's boss once wrote he was a big Medieval (and TW) fan.
Just gave up for today after 3 crashes in a row , and this with ppl who have good links ...

I have this problem:
When i try to join a game larger than 2v2 i freeze and DC unless I'm the first and only person trying to join the game. This didn't exist in 1.1.
I also like the idea of a letter to a mag explaining the poor support we get.
