I'm somewhat of a very basic modder(Using other mods and tweaking them to fit my style.).I'm interested in making Venice a seperate faction using the swiss, and I was wondering how you change their king unit from pike to a royal knight. Also how do you change names of factions in VI.In MTW you simply went into names.txt, but now it seems not to work.I tried to change the People of Novg to the Kievans in the Wesmod but can't get it to work? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif

Edit the all the files in the Loc\Eng\ folder, specifically Names.txt, to rename the Swiss to the Venitians. Then open up the campmap\startpos\ files and give ID_VENICE to FN_SWISS (whom are now your new faction with the old code tag), then download Gnome unit editor from the Org downloads and search for the Swiss Armoured Pikemen in the crusades_unit_prod13.txt file and delete the FN_SWISS from column 49 and add it to Early/High/Late Royal Knights

For Faction re naming the files you need to look in are Loc/Eng/ NAMES then DEFAULT FACTION SPECIFIC (this is the main file for the change to take effect) then you have entries in CHANGES and VARIABLES to make the change complete. Just look in these files and follow the entries already there for the faction names you do not need to make entries in every LOC file. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
