I understand your frustrations, but I dont think the battle load problems are specific to my mod (no one I have heard of has been able to add a new faction to the main campaign without this problem). I thought as all else was fine I should relase my mod so others can have a look, rather than leave it sitting on my hard drive. Is it worth releasing a bug free version of my mod with NO new factions but the new units, agents, buildings, etc.

New mods are welcome all the time, bug riddled or bug free.

Every major mod I've ever done has been somewhat glithy. Random CTD for no reason. Just make sure to save often http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Most crashes I've experienced (read: my only one) was when I bribed the Prussian rebel army as the Irish

In my experience when you get crashes while loading battles it will have something to do with the battle/uniticons file. you need to make sure theyre thr right format and have the right colour background. Use GFX2 to solve this problem

I'm playing the 10 new factions mod as the Cumans without any problems at all. these are actually the old Novgorod, which is why they don't have problems (i guess).

Regardless, all the new factions are a blast, just to see how history changes. The Danes have taken over parts of spain and north africa. Almohads are also quite powerful (as are the Cumins of course&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif.

I'd really like to see the new factions get worked out. It'll add a lot of longevity to the game.

As for bugs, as a mod builder it is hard to get rid of them all. I've modded nearly every campaign since i bought the game. Little things cause big problems - one too many tabs in the UnitProduction file will, and its not as if you can see the tabs easily ( the new excel spreadsheet will fix that, hopefully). I think all mods should be uploaded - just post the known bugs, or level of testing in the readme. Who can complain then?

Dan, you post here and don't even mention the No Units mod? I am deeply shaken and taken aback. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

There are a few typos in the mod, but I think I posted in the Mod's thread on explaining how to correct all of them. The mod is available at my webpage, which I am relieved to say I have access to again.

whoops, let me correct that ommision..

I started the No Units MedMod this morning, since my Egyptian and Cuman games are bugged. I started as the Almmohads (but only in one territory). No problems so far, but it will be nice to get a new unit line-up. I'm much happier with version 2.0 of the regular game. i think the real challenge for modders is going to be to make the end game stay as challenging and fun as the growth stage.
