just played my first MP game

well, I just finished my first three MP games. It was great fun actually, I've always been an SP player. sorry to Gawain, daman, el fary and others for my noob mistakes like getting ambushed, running around in near panic, not knowing what I was doing etc http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif still I had a great time. thanks and I hope I'll improve.

Lol, perhaps it's time to switch to a new game. Rise of Nations sounds quite fun and the über-patch to MOO3 is coming out soon... Diablo 2 is about to get a huge patch too and then there are promising new games like Breed... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

I remeber my first game online. I was hooked so unfortunatly i never really enjoyed sp as much i had done before because of the laughable AI.
Right now im playing sp for a while before i dive into mp so i can get used to units and such.

Well I have had the game a month and I'll be trying MP out for the first time tonight when I get home from work (@Midnight..ugh). I went home on my lunch break and installed Gamespy Arcade and I can't wait to get home and try MP. The way everyone talks around here I have been missing out on all the real fun of the game. Now just out of curiosity does the stuff that I modded for Single player, ie costruction time of units, buidling requirments for units..etc, mess with the multiplayer at all. If it does I'll just restrore the original files.

It does. Make sure you have the same unitprod, projectilestats, and any other files as everybody else.

Well I played my first few games of MP this morning. That was an absolute blast. My first game was 2v2 game that ended very quickly for myself and my teammate. I think the battle lasted all of about 2 minutes with most of that running away. My next two games were with a guy named Pharoah, not sure if he posts here or not, and they were 1v1. I lost the first one badly. I think he only ever used half his troops. I was just clearly overmatched. The second game I won in a great battle that went down to the last few units. Man what a blast, such a vastly differen tgame when playing against a human player online. (as all games are of course) Anyways just wanted to share my joy of my first few games online. I'd really like to play on it. Anyways, I'll be back in Rome, and come to think of it, my first game was pretty fun too. it was a 3v3 and we just got blasted off the map. I still remember my ally's comment after the stats displayed: "Hey ody (odysseus_1816 used to be my first nick) no offense buddy but LOL" that was pretty nice way of telling me that I screwed up hhehe. Its great that most people over the net know about respect and kindness.
