This might be an interesting screnario you might like to try. Found this at the ToTWar Shogun Forum in thier War College talk back. For the experts who would like a challenge.

Reply A scenario for you and brige assult tactic
One of the most difficult scenarios I ever played:
If any one wants a challenge read on. The second section is on bridge assault, one tactic.
Ok, first select the Mongol invasion, expert level. Choose the Hojo clan.
At the start of the game the Chikuzen province is the landing place of the first enemy invasion army. Abandon it, your two units in that area retreat. Now, kill all your armies, yes you are reading right, all At this point, after two minutes since you have allot of troops and you are wondering what the hell you are getting your self in to, you will have only four units on the strategic map. Your hojo in Yamashiro province and 3 of your relatives which can not be killed no matter how many times I tried located in Mimasaka, Kii and Echigo.

You cant fight battles if your dynamo is not present. This means that you can personally take command only if you, the dynamo is present. Otherwise you let the computer calculate the result or retreat. Also if your Dynamo dies the game ends. Yes, I don’t care how many children you have if he dies and a successor comes to power, I know its infuriating happened to me many times, just stop, bless the new dynamo and exit the game. Calm down and you may try again.
The story line, skip if bored:
You are the Hair of the Hojo dynasty. Growing up in the war torn Japan, you saw your father unite the land under his leadership. Many men he slathered many he had allied to him. After the long wars, Japan was finally at peace. The armies were slowly disbanded back o the provinces and men praised your father’s name for the prosperity and stability they now saw in the future. You grew up being tough by the generals of those wars and by the many learned men coming from distant lands. Being the 3rd son your chance of ever becoming a Dynamo were not great. Thus by your 19th birthday you took a merchant ship to China. With a pursy of gold a sharp sword and the wings of youth you decided to seek adventure. The next ten years you spent discovering this foreign land, learning and taking part in the wars against the Mongol infestation. You fought many battles and made some trusted companions, but that is a story for another time.
At your 29th birthday you Hojo Tokimune were met by agents from the Hojo clan. They had searched a long time to finally locate you in those northern regions above china a general and leader in the region’s rebellion. The news is about your father who is dying. He has been ill for a very long time and before he departs this land he wants to see you for the last. You hear also of roumors about a huge force massing in the Korean peninsula, the agents reporting that some believed bound for Japan. Thus you and a few companions set sail for you homeland. The details of you voyage are many, the pages of a book could be filled.
When you arrive home Japan has changed. Your father sickness has left the land leaderless. Your brothers have summoned men and left for the south. The rumors of a Mongol raid have been taken seriously. You have fought that enemy and know of their skill. Most people in Japan are confident that such barbarians present no treat. Everything is decaying. In Yamashiro province there is life around the capital. At you arrival in Kyoto castle you find your father dead. You sorrow is deep and you are there at his burial. You hardly recognize the men who participate in the ceremony. As your father’s body is consumed by the flame a massager arrives. His horse callapses dead underneath him. The man dearly fights to remain conscious. “My lord” He speaks to the castle keeper not recognizing you “ My lord forgive me for bringing such news…. At Chikuzen the Mongol invader has landed. Our lords offered to duel with the enemy leader…. instead…. they were …. cut down by arrows. There was a great battle. Our men so enraged by the cowards acts attacked and attacked again. They were too few. They were surrounded. All are dead …. all. The Mongols are invading"
With the death of you father and your two brothers, you are now the new Shogun.
The sickness of your father has had an effect on the country. Only tree armies, if they can be called that remain. They are loyal commanded by your uncles. But to gather men will take time. There is noting to stop the Mongols and the 3 allied clans may not be trusted in these times of weakness. You retire to the castle for the night. The situation is hopeless. How can you survive the coming storm. Everything that you have learned will be needed to save Japan. All your military skill. How to revive the economy of a land being overrun by enemies? Where to send one’s armies? Which men to lead which men to give to your generals to lead? You know the Mongols. They have better troops then your infrastructure can produce. Will you take the challenge or maybe head to the port take a ship and leave this dammed island. But you can not do that, for your ancestors, for your people, for your land, for your honor you will fight…
This scenario is extremely difficult and I would only suggest it to really good players. Half of Japan will be under Mongol occupation before you have enough troops to offer battle not to mention that the rebels will use the situation, break the peace and invade all of the North from the tree rebel provinces. I would love to hear any comments on your progress. I could start another game on this scenario and post it if there is demand. So far I have not won but after many years I believe to having finally the upper hand. I would have posted this on a separate tread but I don’t know how.
