Hi everybodyhttp://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
I need help, i used to play medieval total war (patched 1.1) on a
Pentium2 Computer
512Megs RAM
Acorp 6VIA81p Motherboard
VIA Appollo PRO 133 Chipset
Sound Blaster Live MP3+
Asus GeForce2 32 MB Video Card(Driver was 44.03_win9x_international,
I.E.the latest)
DirectX 8.1
Win98SE Updated Regularly.
I then transferred My 80Gig Hard drive and my Video card in
my new Computer, an
AMD 2200+ CPU
512 Megs Kingston KVR 333MHZ DDR No-ECC RAM
MSI KT4 Ultra with FSB 333 Motherboard
VIA KT400 Chipset
Same video card, same driver.
The sound card is integrated with the MSI Motherboard.
DirectX 8.1
Same O.S. (Win98SE)
After having problems:dizzy: , namely choppy battles and crashing
to a black screen with a dotted green line when i was pressing
the Esc key to save my game,
I transferred the virtual memory to a second 8Gig
hard drive with 1 Gig Free Space available.
The choppy battles problem is solved, no more crashing to a black screen
with a green line anymore.:D
My problems now are that when i start my battles, after 30 seconds i crash
to my desktop. That is if Windows doesn't tell me
that Medieval Total War has performed an illegal operation.
I reinstalled and patched the game many times, have downloaded the eight previous
drivers for my video card and am about to try them one by one with my game.
I am also about to update my MSI mainboard if new drivers for it are
available.
My question is have i forgot anything?
If so, what?http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
I love to play with the technical aspect of computers and software but so
far i have been unsuccessful in playing Medieval Total War on my
new computer and i miss Conquering Europe terribly:-D
I also would like to get Viking Invasion but i am not going to buy it
while i am having so many problems with Medieval Total War.:mecry:
My other games work fine, I play Flight Simulator Pro 2002 with the settings to
the max with no problems.
This is my first post, congratulations for a very informative and well
taken care of website.
