Yay for those of you like myself that were wondering what historical figures turn up in the campaign. I found this list in the names file. Dont know if it was there all along or was included with the expac.

I've made a few adjustments to try to set these out in a more readable fashion. The hero name is obvious enough. This is followed by the date that they will appear, then their command stars, dread, piety, acumen, loyalty and any starting virtues and vices.

It will then say whether they are a general, bishop, emissary etc and what region that they will appear in. I take limbo to mean that region is unimportant. Rebel generals will only show up if there is a rebellion in thier province on or around (or perhaps after) the date shown and can then be bribed.

Whether or not all of these made it into the final game is debateable but I've seen quite a few of them, so would'nt be surprised. No Idea either if certain generals require a certain troop type to be built, although again I've seen Joan of Arc leading a unit of urban militia, so I reckon that its just a matter of building something that turn and they'll show up to lead it.

Just wondering, do any other heroes have unique portraits like El Cid? Or do they just appear to be as regular units? I've only seen about 3 heroes and the only one with a unique portrait seems to be El Cid.
Also, does Richard the Lionheart appear? I thought he would appear as a hero king perhaps? for the English of course

Joan of Arc has a unique portrait. Not sure about the others. I'm surprised that Richard is not on the list, although I have to say that I've never seen him in the campaign game. If he were to appear, I'd imagine that he would have the same portrait as in the historical campaigns. Does anyone know if Saladin (Nur-Al Din) in the game has a unique portrait like in the historical campaigns?
Also a unique portrait for Robin Hood would be nice.

I think I heard that if a king has the same name and number as a real king had, he will have the same stats as that person had in reality. So if you have a King named Richard I he should be the same as Richard I Ceuor de Lion.

Saturnus: Saladin is not named Saladin in the game, but I don't remember what the name used was, so if he had that picture it could actually have been Saladin.

"Ibn" means "son of", doesn't it? But it came to be a part of the name -- kind of like "son" is part of "Johnson". (Some guy named John had a son who was called son of John or John's son or Johnson, and the rest of the family kept the Johnson moniker.) I'm kind of interested in that stuff.

I don't know if any of you guys have seen the 13th Warrior, It got pretty bad reviews but is a firm favourite of mine. Anyway there is a bit where Antonio Banderas' arabian character introduces himself to the vikings for the first time. Can't remember his exact name but it goes on like Raschid ibn Fahlan ibn ...... ibn... for absolutely ages. The vikings refer to him as Ibn after this point. I found it quite amusing.

The words stated on the description were actually words that Werner Von Urslingen engraved onto his breastplate. From all accounts, he meant it. Evil bastard who earned his preset vice(Butcher).

Are you sure the stats are right? Because I got "guy of gisbourne" in both english campaigns a played and he showed up as an 5 star assassin and not as 3 star as stated in your list.
