Shields and faction colours

ok, ive been having a small problem, im making a new shield set, but when i use that faction (say england) and another colour (say russia) then the shields dont appear. can someon help me?

What is the unit you're replacing the shield for? There are some units, for example chilvaric knights/sergeants, that use shields based on their faction. The shields on the bif are replaced by ones in the Battles\Facshield directory.

My theory
You might think that since you picked England it will use the English shields. But if you change the faction colour, ie Russian, then the Russian shields are chosen to have the same colour as the unit colour.

thats wht happening, but how do i fix it?

It seems to be hardcoded. Normally in shieldfile it is written what the coordinates of the shield in the bif are. This is also the case, but if you open the bif you'll see strange colours on the shield. It isn't used at all; the shields in FactionShields folder are used instead. There's also a d.txt file with a list of units using FactionShields but it doesn't seem to matter if you delete an entry.

What I'm trying say is:
Normally MTW uses the shield provided on the bif. With some units it uses FactionShields instead. As I cannot find a txt-file in which it can be changed I can only assume it's hardcoded (which seems a bit strange though).

Solution?
I don't know why you would like to change colour, but if you always pick the same colour (for example Russian) you might want to change all the Russian shields to one of your flavor.

Each faction has a rgb in the startpos like so.

hmm... you say for example "Alamohad_lge"

where are these located, as i tihnk i may have overlooked them

No he meant something else. Some units of which Chilvaric Sergeants is an example uses Faction Shields. In contrary to the neutral shields provided on the bifs, faction shields change when you pick an other colour. While the flag icon remains the same, all the colours (the rgb's you're talking about) and faction shields change.

This presents the problem:
Alrowan made his (Raven?)shield for the English and altered all the English factionshields. However when he picks a different colour, ie Russian, in MP or custom battles then not the English shields are taken but the Russion ones.

I think it's hardcoded since I couldn't find any moddable reference to using the factionshields.
