The next guide I intend to do for SHADESMTW.COM will be HRE. As previous I plan to do an Early and Late complete plan and do a story for the High Era.

For the story, this time I was thinking of using some of the Heroes hidden within the game....

So a few question for all you to help me with........

- How much notice of Heroes have you take?
- I notice the heroes are broke down into categories, ie General, Bishop, Emissary, while in game do these all appear as generals ?
- Hereoes for this period to be
-- Albertus Magnus (Dominican scholar)
-- Conrad of Marburg (murdered 1233)
Any help on these people would be much appreciated...

ALBERT THE GREAT

A life which combines religious perfection with the study of Wisdom has a marvelous power of arousing and lifting up the hearts of the faithful.

St Albert was one of the earliest generation of the Dominican order, founded in 1216; he took a large part in the momentous intellectual developments of the thirteenth century, and was declared patron of all those who devote themselves to the natural sciences, by Pope Pius XII in 1941. He is traditionally known as Albertus Magnus, Albert the Great. He was born in Swabia, within a few years of 1200 (the date is uncertain), the eldest son of a family belonging to the military nobility. He was educated at the University of Padua, already a scientific center, and joined the Dominicans as a young man. After completing his studies he taught theology; he went to Paris about 1240, and took the degree of master in sacred theology there in 1245 or 1246. For the next thirty years he led a very active life as teacher and administrator, including periods as provincial of his order in Germany and as bishop of Ratisbon, tramping the roads of Europe on long journeys. Yet his printed works, which were mostly composed in this period, fill thirty-eight quarto volumes and cover every field of learning. At Cologne and Paris he had St Thomas Aquinas as his pupil, and one of his last missions was to defend some of Thomas's writings against attacks at Paris in 1277. He died in 1280, after a pitiful period of dotage. He was canonized and declared a doctor of the church in 1931.

CONRAD OF MARBURG

d. 1233, German churchman. He was confessor (1225–31) of St. Elizabeth of Hungary and administrator of her husband’s benefices in his absence. His zeal against heresy earned him appointment (1231) as first papal inquisitor in Germany. His harshness made him much disliked, and he was murdered.

Glad you got those links Wolf. Some heroes appear as they are depicte in the file, bishop, assasin, general etc.. I guess you found this out by now. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Sorry I am late.

Well I am also late in noting the list of Turk, Egyptian (not too bad) and Almo heroes.

I did not take much notice, but today I actually saw the Turk (and the rest) list and not surprisingly the Turks have very few important figures from history included in the game. Not even a single Pasha or Grand Vizier ??? (IIRC), but they have like 5 heroes LOL. Just compare that with England, France, HRE ...amazing.

Thankfully I never noticed before this coz of so-so bloodlines giving me reasonable generals. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
