View Full Version : Sumtin bout RTW
First of all, I want to greet all of you that have been here be4 me. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
Now to the important stuff
After watching the IGN RTW movie and hearing the music when the barbarians are just marching and then charging, I remembered the music in STW and MTW.
For some other games, the developers post the music files in mp3 format some time be4 the game is released for download, so people can enjoy the music. A good example would be Mafia.
Now, I loved STW music and I also love MTW music, and I wondered if you think it would be possible to convince the developers to give some RTW songs out be4 the game is finished.
---I would've posted this in the Colloseum, but I'm a junior patron, so mod, move it there please, if you think it's good enuff http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif---

Greetings Acheron & welcome to the.Org http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
I haven't heard/read if Mr VanDkye is doing the music & fx sounds (he did STW & MTW), but if the past holds any precedent: he shows up here around release of the demo & provides links to samples, usually. I anticipate hearing from him late summer, early fall this year. He's probably busy recording raging elephants burning pigs & snarling dogs right about now. (What a job, eh? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif )
Lots of Colosseum guys visit here - so we'll leave this here in the EH for now, moving it later if it doesn't collect more comment, OK?
Sounds like the same author to me http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I just love drums (and the most I loved Arab battle 1 from MTW)

With other games releasing CDs with their game music, it would be mighty fine if the same could be done with the TW series. I only wonder if there is enough to make it a CD of decent length.
All songs of MTW take 437 MB so it could work.
Perhaps they could take the music from all TW games and put it on a cd, or 2 cds.
I mean, if GTA Vice City can get a CD for EACH it's radio station TW series could too.
Hey mate, thanks for the greeting http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
Well I'd say they ough to keep the music to themselves because the music simply doesnt give me anything without the battlefield. Try to imagine the mtw soundtrack without your men on the field, maybe you'll change your decision http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Actually, I'm listening to MTW music also when doing almost anything else on the PC http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
But the men-on-field just give it an epic look http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I just can't get enuff of the IGN RTW movie. I'm watching it overandoverandoverandoverandoverandoverandover... Just can't get enuff of the scene where the green guys charge. Keeping their swords high... I'm gonna upgrade my pc just for RTWs sake http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif since MTW worx fine in SP but in MP my Geforce2 MX 400 just can't handle the masses http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
Another thing.
Do you think RTW will demand a DX9 compatible graphics card?

Absolutely.
I mean it like, you won't be able to play with a card that's not 100% DX9 compatible? Like any card you can buy nowadays under $200?

well if MTW ran on your PC,then RTW would,or thats what the devs said.anyways i suggest you get a good card to get the most out of it.
I sure will, but it's just out of curiosity.
I'm planning on getting a GF 4 Ti 4200 and I guess it will suffice.

I want one of those to http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif
RTW will probably run at 60fps with that http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Hehe, that'll be enuff, if only my other parts won't be too exhausted (Athlon 1 GHZ, 384 SD RAM)

Let me guess, you started with 256 an upgraded with 128?
Maby you could get your hands on a 2gig processor and make that 384 a nice 512ram.
I got a 1,7Athlon (aldo the info screen says its 1,1gighz, my comp is a little screwed up, got to reinstal and clean HD this holliday) and 256ram.
When rome comes out I'm upgrading to 512ram and mab a GF 4 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif
nope http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif started with 128+64 and then replaced 64 with 256
IF I could get my hands on a 2 ghz processor, I'd do it, but since I have VERY limited funding, my GFX card is the priority, since the processor will hold out for half a year till my b-day http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
