View Full Version : Some V&Vs do disappear?

Playing the HRE, I've reached the point when so many of my governors turned into scoundrels that I didn't bother to replace them any more. However, I did keep track of some crucial ones, and I think I've noticed that some V&Vs actually disappear when the general dies. More specific, I could swear that the negative vices related to governing the province, such as smuggler, poor steward, dominant trader, etc. were gone in the replacements. The good ones stay, however, as well as the inbred etc., and the replacements still have the same stats. I'm going to keep track more closely for now on, but I just wanted to ask whether anybody else noticed this?

Are you playing with the green generals switch? If so, the V&Vs change. Don't know whether they do in the retail version.

I started the campaign with the switch, but removed it after a couple of turns (about 100 turns ago) when none of this has happened yet. And their stats remain the same, and all the natural leaders and deep thinkers are still there. So, it's either confusing, or a feature... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Strange..better not tinker around with the switch when u have a campaign in progress http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I'm too lazy to check what it does without the switch though. Anyone? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Ok, I started a new campaign, this time without any switches. The poor steward and similar negative vices do disappear. I had a governor who got the vice poor steward. I removed the title, and the vice was gone. It's possible that the guy died that same turn, as I have noticed previously the link between these two things. The same thing happened when I assassinated a governor who became gambler. His replacement was still great builder, but not gambler any more. I'm sure I'm not imagining it this time around...

It occured in my game once. I was playing Turks and one of the historical general, Qutb Al din Aibak, had preset devout virtue. When he died, that virtue was downgraded to believer. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif I didn't use the -green general switch.

My heir had a "secret jealousy" vice or something like that and I kept a close tab on him. When he became King, the vice was gone. Makes sense...
