Has anyone compiled a guide that shows the stats for the new units, plus who can build them and what techs are required? I haven't seen one yet, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

Hi. Don't know if somebody around here did that already. General info about the tech and units are available in the tech tree on the VI CD. Unit stats, you could check them for yourself by pressing F1 when in battle (need basic, unupgraded units though), or you can browse through the Viking stats text file in your MTW folder.
Good question. CA provided excel files that show the units stats as well as the tables for armour, weapons, unit quality etc that underline them. They are available in the downloads section (Viking_unit_prod.xls or some such, uploaded in May). There are two zip files: the Viking* one is just for the VI campaign; the new units for the main MTW campaign are in a MTW* one, if I recall.
I confess I have never found a very nice easily printable presentation of the unit stats - so many units, so many stats. I guess you could easily create one from the excel files, although I do have the official strategy guide which gives a decent understanding of them at least pre-patch.
The excel files should be sufficient if you are just interested in the faction you are currently playing, as you can look up the few new units, but is obviously not a guide per se.
My initial impression of the units for the VI campaign is that factions should play to their "unique" units - eg Welsh bandits, Scots highlanders, "English" huscarls etc. There also seem to be some quirky pricing features - eg fyrd seem to be feudal sergeants that are cheaper to support than inferior spearmen.
Working on it. Should be finished in a day or two, work (real-life) permitting.

I found the Excel files, but man, what an unwieldy format
Hopilite--Please post a message here to let us know when your file is available. Looking forward to it.
Almost finished. Still a few viking units to go. After that, buildings.

One of our junior patrons has done one. His name is frogbeastegg, but as he can only post in the entrance hall, im saying this on his behalf. Check out the "can someone move this" topic, details in there http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Use Yas Terazawa's MTW site.
Go to the "Units" section.

There is a tech tree on the disk, but when you print it out, it gets awfully small - or am I needing a printing tip here?

Also, in regards to a "guide", is there anyone who has come up with a guide for MTW and Vikings like the ones available for Shogun online. I have folders full of those with printed pics of the units and their descriptions. I do have the "official" guide for MTW btw.

And here they are.
basic game (http://www.helsinki.fi/~leivolem/stuff/MTW_Build-Unit-data_VI_v20.xls)
viking era (http://www.helsinki.fi/~leivolem/stuff/MTW_Build-Unit-data_VI_v20_Vikings.xls)
Both files have data entries for all the buildings and units found in the game. I also added entries for hte units you normally can't build in M:TW, like sherwood foresters and such.
I used the same file layout for the sheets as the one created by AFlorin, because there's no better way to present the stats. I also used the same kind of abbreviations, hence the similar look of the files.
Enjoy.
P.S. Frogbeastegg, if you're reading this, I'd like a copy of your file too. My email is xxxxxxx@xxx.fi (xxxxxxx@xxxx.fi).
Nice file, Hoplite, thanks for providing it. Much more digestible than the CA ones (although I like their "final" attack and defence stats that factor in the shield and other bonuses).

Does your printer support tiling across multiple sheets of paper? Most newer printers will do multiple pages to a sheet and tiling multiple sheets to a page if you check out the print options rather than just hitting "print".
It's partly down to Acrobat, which helpfully resizes any printed image to fit on the printer paper regardless of the original image's size. The tech tree for VI was the same size as the original MTW tree when created.

I just finished updating the files I posted earlier.
The version for the basic game had the costs of many units at their v1.1 values. These have now been updated for v2.0 as well as double-checking upkeep costs.
The VI file now has unit upkeep presented in florin value instead of the upkeep cost integer, which varies depending on default unit size.
