Vanya is not nordic. Vanya's hair is not blonde (though Vanya is unsure as to wheter His Head might have gotten highlights or colored It's hair golden in the oh, last 1000 years or so...). Vanya does not yodle.

BUT...

Vanya wanted a Swedish nanny when He was a kid... didn't happen.

As you can see, Vanya's nordic encounters have generally proven sour. You can understand Vanya's hesitance to joining a viking organization.

Maybe Vanya is jaded... maybe Vanya can be tickled into joining. Vanya leaves that up to youz.
