Ok, I see all these people playing hardcore and making all these rules that frankly are pretty odd to follow (though some make alot of sence) Anyway heres a new twist if you like to write stuff down. Play a campagin with any faction in any era and use the .matteosartori. code to view the whole map. You now are the "Historion" You can literally re-write history. Lets say you take the Irish and the Picts invade, you can start off with a breif overview of the turmoil then describe the battle. Let's say it was a small skirmish with the Irish outnumbered but winning, it could go something like this:

"It is said that the night before 815ad you could smell the Picts from a far and some children could see fires in the sky. A small force of about 500 invaded Ireland that very next day and it was the start of a war. the Irish were completely outnumbered but found a way to win and hold of the Picts, but they would be back, some day they will be back."

I could elaborate more but just trying to give you an example. You can then write about each battle and whats going on around them. When its over you can give it a name. You could post it here (if its ok) or on a different fourm. You can fight every battle yourself or just your general or just your king. Play how you want, but with that twist.
Does that make any sence to anyone? I like it though I dont know if it would work out. Feedback welcome.

28 views and noone can respond eitehr way argh lol anyway here is a little mini preview of how I would do it (the lands are not in any order, I am not that good at the map)

It is the year of our lord 795 and our Irish brethern are quite happy. We have fully united Ireland and have lived peacefully with the Picts and Scots for over 20 years now. It is said that there is anyother strange pack of men coming near and it instills some fear in my men. It is said they grow horns out of their heads and eat the dead. They come in mass waves and can strike over night and be gone by the sunrise. They are called the Vikings and I myself am even alittle uneasy...are tehy fact or simply a myth?
The year is now 811 and the Picts have turned their backs on us. They have taken half of Ireland and continure to press on, it was an unfair attack, my men werent ready...they took my only son The first night they attack was a grave night indeed. It was 805 and we were feasting and drinking. Many said they could hear distance hooves thundering across the plains but noone took any real notice untill...we saw them...we saw them ripping throw the village below beheading the women and children. My son was the first one to charge down the hill, to soon I fear and with no backup one of the Picts cut him down...I vow revenge We quickly took up arms but were overrun and were forced to retreat. Since then we have be fighting back but with no skilled archers we are at a great disadvantage. My men are begining to waiver. The Picts ave cut us off from the Scots so we can't send for help, trust me we have tried. What we recived as an answer...from the Picts is to grusome to describe. I hope that the Scots will realize whats happening and send help but I fear our time may be running short. I feel a chill at times, like something is breathing down my neck. Could it be a sign from God that something is coming from behind? The Vikings?

Ummmm, thats my example I could keep going but only if you guys liked it, this is all off the top of my head mind you.

It takes to long to watch the computer make the moves with that code & it just shows how bad the AI so i'd prefer not to see http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

Well I dont mean it to be a report or anything, its just an idea for people who injoy writing you know? Personally I don't like to write unless in involves wars thats about it. And it could be short and sweet but to look back and see everything that happened it could even help modders fix things.

In the year 1355, on a fine day, with no change expected, a small force of 180 Spanish crusaders formed atop a desert hill. These remnants of a beleagured and besieged crusade fought off over 800 attacking Almohads, mostly conscripted peasants and Bedouins. It was a glorious battle, but in the end scarcely 50 men survived, and the enemy looks to readying for another attack.

Also that same year, a coordinated assault by the Spanish Navy, which comprised of over 25 ships, failed to eliminate an Egyptian navy of only 3 craft. All 25 loyal vessels were lost.

The last words of the Spanish sea captain, before he retired to his quarters as the ship sank were, “Buggy.” (translated from the Castillian language)

By wild coincidence, a hundred leagues away esconced in his castle in Madrid, the Spanish King was heard to utter the same words as he at last expired at the tender age of 56.

Good one, Soly http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

P.S.

Minikiller,

Nothing wrong at all with your idea---in fact several posters to this forum have already done exactly what you are describing. I remember that one of our European comrades was quite good at it, but personally I'm just not industrious enough, nor have the patience to do that much descriptive writing.

Cheers

Personally, I'm just to lazy to write
