Campaign Map

Anyone know where I can find the Medieval Total War campaign map in jpg format (or any other picture format)

in your mtw folder under textures/campmap
the files are called maptex and maptex2

tga - I'm guessing. Do you know why they are 2 seperate files

Ok - just got the decompress tool to convert them to tga

your're welcome. I have no idea as to why it's two files, they look exactly the same to me.

They are the same files, but at different sizes. The larger one, used for higher resolution graphics, is 4096 x 3072 pixels, while the smaller one is 2048 x 1536 pixels and is used for lower resolution graphics, obviously.

The smaller file is a bit over 9 megs in size, while the larger one is almost 37 megs. If you're running MTW with a display adapter with 16 megs of memory(like I do), guess which file the card uses http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
