Saturday's MI/WE nite was fun. About 10 people showed up to play, and after finally getting everyone up and running, except for smellykatz, we had some very good games. V1.03 stats made the game interesting and all of us were pretty much newbies again. The players were CBR, Yuuki, TosaInu, Ryuken, Strike, Soul, Elmo, Jordyn and Yogi. The game is still a little laggy at times, and it may take a few games to get started due to drops, but once you get a game up, it reminds you why you started playing this game to begin with.
We will be hosting every saturday night at 9 pm eastern. Maybe earlier if I have my work finished around the yard/house then (Have to keep the wife happy). Look forward to seeing more of you and playing some big 4v4's again.
Hello Elmo,
Yes it was fun. Did you play many more games after I left?
Dam, i didnt hear about this event. I wish i was there, hope you all had fun.
yes it was fun...when we finally had battles and not just drops heh. Last one I played was just lag lag and more lag, but shit happens.

The last game CBR played he got his butt whooped http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Of course one of his partners dropped off the server in the middle of the game, but I am sure we would have won anyways hehe We played several more games after you left Tosa. I don't remember cav being as quick in the MI/WE game, but then I am used to the MTW heavily armored cav units and that might be why horses seemed so fast. I liked the way arrows are effective vs. the low armored, high cost monk and no dachi units. Will see you guys next saturday to play some more.

OOPs almost forgot. Know what I miss the most about MI/WE and original shoggy? The kill ratio bar on the minimap as a true indicator of if you are winning or not. With MTW and the different sized units, it is difficult to tell if you are actually winning since I have had games where my kill ratio was 75% or more and gotten beat by an army of all 100 man units. HEHE At least with all units being the same size it is easy to tell how well you are doing mid-battle.

Hi Elm,
Typically that bar is just a sad reminder of what I already know... as is that taunting voice that says something about "my cowardly general..."
anyway... I reinstalled STW cause I heard some still play that. Didn't know the MI had games going... will have to stick on that darn unofficial patch .03. See if I can log on, if WinXP lets me... have had some trouble there.
Just about 2.5 gig for all 3 total ware versions... GAH
Anyway if u see Strike, give him a hello from me.

i posted this help in a thread in the apothecary but thought id put it here for mitch.. and any others with XP who have had trouble with the logging on screen... ie... it never gets past it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif heres my "fix"
k here it is the ultimate trick to getting past that continual logging on screen... listen well http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif click log on once until it stays there... click back... then click "register on EA" ... this will close stw and bring you to EA website. Enter only ur username and password (in the new customer bit) and click register... it will say username is already used, good Then.. simply click on stw/mi in the taskbar and go back to log on screen. before you click log on remove 1 letter from ur password, and click log on. it will say account details incorrect (good sign). Go back.. and this time add the letter back to ur password and go log on. It should work first time. If not u dont have to go back to the EA site... just remove 1 letter of password and try., then add it and try until it works. It seems a bit excessive but it isnt really... and it has never taken me more than 2 minutes to log on since i found this method. I cant begin to explain quite why this works.. but it works so well you cant deny its power have fun
