Ive noticed in the WE campaign the AI is more likely to withdraw if you have a superior army -- rather than do a suicide charge like in the days of old.
Unfortunately, this has been carrying over to a few custom battles as well HAHA
I just tried to play 3 defenses of Castle 4d and all three times the AI withdrew from battle when he got close enough to see what units I had. The first two times we both went on "random units" so I figured I'd give him a good army to attack me with on the third try and I'd take random. I guess he wasnt satisfied with what I gave because he withdrew again LOL. So much for practicing castle defense http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
