View Full Version : Strange... Crusades and stuff...
here's the story...
I play as byz, MTW version 1.1
1. England starts a crusade against khazar (sp?)
2. I take the prov from the rebels
3. rebels retreats to castle after fight.
4. england (I am ALLIED with them at this time) takes khazar and my troops ends up in my closest province.
5. I attack (breaking alliance) and get khazar back (rebels also attacked same turn).
6. England (now NEUTRAL for osme reason) takes khazar back and i dont get the option to fight, and my troops again ends up in nearest province.
what's up with this?

Welcome Kadagar. I never zsaw this happen but i've seen other things happen when cruzades are involved that don't follow normal rules. I think your case is a bug http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Hi Kadagar
I've experienced a similar problem in Antioch when playing as the Byz attacking the Egyptians and confronted with a Spanish crusade. In my situation I had captured the province but there were still some Egyptian soldiers under siege in the castle. For some reason that enabled the Spanish to take over the siege and my soldiers were booted out of the province. I don't think it is a bug and I don't think that it happens like this unless there is still a siege taking place when the crusade arrives. I have captured a province as the Byz and been in complete control of the castle when a crusade arrives and it always informs me that the crusade is on a mission from God then gives me the options to fight or hand over the province. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Hello Kadagar. I can't say I've heard that one either. I guess your faction finds the English repulsive. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
PR, it's a long story of which I may post about if time permits. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
JS>>> I also had a siege going...
so the lesson to learn is to always ATTACK the castle before the crusade gets there... or you'll have no chance of holding the province.
This is specially important since you probably will try and fight a defensive battle against a crusade in early, not a offensive.
It still sounds like a bug though... orthodox factions shouldnt just give up provinces over a crusade.
PR>>> Thanx... I have been on these boards sicne christmas though... but for msome reason after I deleted cookies it says I'm new:o/
