I've gotta get this after looking at the special features, I do have the series on video but those features sound good.

Thanks for the link Sinan (my wife will probably kill me when I buy this after I just bought some of the old Kurosawa movies published by the BFI http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )
My pleasure m8....
I preordered as soon as I saw it. Can't wait to get it. I think the first time I watched the series I was about 6 or so...it would be shown on the Pakistani state tv channel at about 22:30 once a week. Way past my bedtime, but I would make such a racket that not only did I end up watching it but so did the rest of the family. LOL

i was pretty young when it first aired myself, but i remember it well; made quite an impression... coincidentally, i'm currently ~1/4 of the way through James Clavell's masterpiece from which the mini-series was created... fascinating, although i must say that my visual impression of the Blackthorne in the book is quite different from the one portrayed by Richard Chamberlain
BTW, anyone seen the trailer for The Last Samurai with *gack* Tom Cruise? supposed to be out in december, i think... the battle scenes look amazing, but one has to wonder, can Cruise pull it off??? *skeptical*
Bows,
Z
