View Full Version : I hate CA!!
I hate CA because I cannot play strategy games apart from TW anymore. I hate CA because they made my dreams come true, so soon that even I didnt expect it. I hate CA because I dont see dreams of women in my sleep that often anymore, maybe because I have no time to sleep and if I do, I see a roman general thrusting his sword into a barbarian's flesh. I hate CA because they made me an addict of computer. I hate CA because now I consider which would be more fun: Staying home with my medieval or going to the cinema with my friends. I hate CA because they make me wait so long for such an awesome game upcoming. I hate CA, because they turned me, into a general from a teenager.
I would advise, never put any real life things before a video game my friend. Unless the game is more important than real life.
Personally I can't imagine living in Istanbul and not going out every second night. The brief time I spent in Turkey was terrible for my hormones and torture to my body, in a sweet way. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Eshek olur semeri kalir; insane olur eseri kalir
Please dont take that proverb negatively, I refer to it in a positive way.

I think Balamir's statement is aa little figurative http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Anyway somthing similar happend with me when i got Shogun , the first , the one and the only http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif
My gf almost gone crazy that times http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I remember that i explained her that Shogun is not a simple game and she started to read Clavell's book .after that i gave her Yoshikawa's Taiko ; this gave me a period of playing in quiet http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Seliuk please translate me the proverb.Btw I was a few times in Istanbul , is a great city with lot of charm
I can say one thing about addictive computer games:
You will never get STDs while playing them. Unless you...never mind. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
Vederman might get an SD playing video games
Yes, S:TW killed my life too, but, I don't care, I don't like the movies or all that other crap my friends did anyways. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

Hey m8
It is the Turkish equivalent of the famous qoute from the movie Gladiator:
What we do in life echoes in eternity.

Well when i play nobody is allowed in the room....talk about anti-social. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

People can come into the room when I play... Just as long as they don't try to give me bad advice http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Eheh, I got what I expected, TW is some kind of virus that you cant overcome. Still Im happy I met TW, and dont let my CA friends get it wrong, what this topic really meant when you look deep is that they have created the greatest game ever and they should be proud with it. Sinan, Im quite honoured by the way you feel about turkey and you too Vlad. And for the last statement, I would like to tell you guys that I will be leaving to Bodrum on monday, I'll be with my friends there for a few days and then Im off to Lebanon for 4-5 days and on the 13th of july I'll go to a summercamp in England Millfield, if anyone knows. I'll be there for 3 weeks with my friends again (:D)and then I'll go to Gocek, a place in the west coast of Turkey, I will spend a few weeks there on my friend's yacht. And after that, I will be sick of seeing my friends all the time and I will sit down in front of my beloved pc, put medieval (hopefully VI) in the cd tray and not leave that grey armchair that can rotate and level (thats my computer chair) for about one to five weeks http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif So I think it will be a nice summer for me.
To finish off Seljuk, its not insane -- that means crazy in english, the word you're looking for is insan which is man/human in turkish, whatsoever. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Wow that sounds like a hell of a summer http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Lebanon w000000000000000000000t Awesome You will have a GREAT time. I have'nt been there myself but definetly will go next time I am splashing round in the Med. I love the Med, being from a coastal area myself I immediately relate to most communities in the Med. I studied with a lot of Lebanese, there is quite a large expatriate community in Belgium.
I trained with the Turkish National Kendo team in Brussels. Their Sensei is a woman....fights very well.
I was expecting to meet the usual Finnish, English, French and more local crowd at a Kendo meet in Brussels. Instead when I walked into the hall, echoing to the roaring shouts of a batallion 450 kendoka.....I strode up to my challenger I noticed that heart warming crecent and star on her shoulder, the same as my home nations own flag, on a red background. the Turkish team made a big impact in that championship I think they came 6th with overall victories, The Japanese took the top 3 spots so it is pretty much a big deal.
Indeed in my language (Urdu) the word is the same and pronounced in-saan, I thought it was prounounced insan-e or so in Turkish. Anyway all my puntuation is wrong in that phrase. No Turkish fonts on my system http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

There is always time to mack the ladies.
Ack cant pass on without saying the french soccer team had such a lucky day beating us last night We nearly got them on the second half, we even missed a penalty http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif Great play though they benefited from our mistakes very well on the first half. 3-2 the score with lots of chances wasted.
Edit:Grammar mistakes

I felt very guilty about spending so much time playing,so i took a trip to China and Central Asia for a month in March. When i got back i stuck my head back in the game for long periods with no guilt.
I have an 80gig hd full of games and this is the most time consuming.
Hi,
I have to say I admire Sinan's general knowledge. He probably knows more Turkish proverbs than I know English proverbs http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif .Its direct translation is something like
A donkey dies, and pack-saddle(? not sure if this is the right word) is all that is remained from it, where as a human remains back his work of art. It doesn't sound good in English though, as semer (pack-saddle) rhymes with eser (work of art) in Turkish.
PS1: Sinan m8, IIRC you visited Marmaris for 1 day, Marmaris' night life can't even be compared with Bodrum's. You have to come to Bodrum in summer
sorry for that guys, Its nothing private but when two turks come together they speak turkish http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Sorry guys, it's nothing private but when two Turks get together they speak Turkish and annoy the non-Turks into speaking their native languages, like Gàidhlig... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hey, Balamir
I guess you can say, that you love to hate CA. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
ROFLMAO http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
What Kanuni said:
Balamir, brother what's your MP nick? I never saw you on. Or is it that you still dont have VI?
My reply:
Kanuni, mate you should remember me, we met once, but then I used the nick Praetorian. Unfortunately I dont have VI yet but I'll have it in my hands in one or two days. So I'll be seeing you on multi.
More satisfactory I guess? Now Mechstra, what the hell did you say http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I said:
I feel 'left out' with all these Turks speaking in their own language. I need to go to bed soon, it's getting late...
Completely irrelevant and off-topic. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
The Turks are a very honourable enemy (well, they were...). They were the only nation that hasn't accepted the dividing of Poland between mean old Russia, Prussia, and traitorous Austria (and to think we saved their Vienna from the Turks http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif ). They were always our, well, enemy, BUT they always took us as a nation. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Quote[/b] (Kanuni @ June 27 2003,19:58)]

Hey there http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif .... I guess a more appropriate translation is like this:
When an ass dies a saddle remains, when a man dies his deeds.
In this way the translation is not word to word (I think), but sounds ok. My general knowledge about Turkey is not very deep, but I do know that proverbs and sayings are appreciated there. It is always complex to translate proverbs and saying as the meaning must be comveyed with ther correct tone. Although the above sounds a bit rude-ish in English I think in the more firm Turkish, it sounds fine.
Quote[/b] ] You have to come to Bodrum in summer
Love to m8, this year though I have just enough holidays for Pakistan. I have heard much about Bodrum. I do plan another Mediteranean Adventure, this time to visit the historical and cultural sites by day, and PAAAAAARTYYY at night. Sleep comes later. I also want to come watch some music concerts....is Group Yorun popular in Turkey ? I heard them ages ago liked one of their somgs a lot....omore classical I'd LOVE to see Talip Ozkan.
Who knows I may get some extra days this year, or may just quit job if I have too LOL

I think that where we all go wrong is in assuming that CA has created a GAME here. It is NOT a game but a part time job. I for one am gratefull; being self UNemployed as I am. (dissabled) http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif I have no other vices, but a good fix of MTW is all I need to keep me going.

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif Paying us to play the game? Not a bad idea indeed...After all I've bought STW, Mongol Invasion, MTW and VI.Nah, bad idea...After all it's cheaper than other illegal substances causing similar addiction http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif But when RTW is out...Besides my room mates already hate CA since I use the PC all the time for games.Well, you can't keep everyone satisfied
