I hope to get opinions on this. Is it easier to rush an army that has no musk, and about 4-6 archers(SA+CA)? Terrain is flat like Totomi.

Rush using army with 14 fighting units and two missile units (Musk, Arq, SA or CA).

Campaign army for that matter.

Dear Aku comrade,

If you can get a missile advantage, get it, and if you are attacking, try to win the missile battle and the defender will be forced to attack anyway!

But then, if your task of winning missile battle is impossible, hmm...

depends on what sort of troops you prefer to rush with. got cav? tie up their missile troops with an archer cav fient (run your cav up to their missile units but don't attack) while following up with your hand to hand units - which should be attacking. then back your cav up to rain arrows at the enemy missile units until your men break through and can charge the enemy archers.

enemy archers on a hill are pretty tough to get up to if they're all firing at the same time.

I find that archers don't hit well when firing on flat terrain, at least mine that is. If your enemy has no gun units you should be able to rush them effectively.Put your rushers in loose formation till they are about to engage then close formation and hack away.If you can flank or get behind them with Cav too, so much the better. If you have guns, soften him up first with your muskets, they're cheap to replace so losing a few, and soaking up arrows meant for your monks or no-dachi before the rush is good strategy. I always put my guns in ranks of 3,
to maximize their rate of fire. Even if they don't hit as much the increased rate of fire does affect enemy morale quicker. Once you have him wavering your rushers should send them packing.

Hmmm rushing someone who has a melee army and no projectile ain't a good idea. The defender will be on a better position that your most of the times. Aleays have some projectiles to make the other attack you or do a mistake.

i know what u mean tootee, without muskets around the necessity of archers are limited as well.

when rushed a melee is faster over than the archers are emptied. imo battles between units in melee our over a bit too fast.
