I don't know where people at totalwar.com forum got their info, but vomitorium is definitely NOT a chamber where people go to vomit.
Vomitorium as a Roman term for an exit passage way typical in a Roman colosseum or amphiteather that allows people to enter and leave the building quickly. Basically its those hallways or space in modern stadium that connect the entrance area where you get your pepsi and hot dogs and the seating area.

I believe it's both. Vomit is Latin for 'to spew', both out of a colosseum or out of your stomach. So you're both right.

Big King Sanctaphrax is right, Vomitorium could mean either one.

Same question here ...
you guess would be as good as mine, other than addiong a VnV to a general staying within the city for along time, i cant see any advantage that would be given.

Could it possibly give more valour to a spy, ie staying at the party longer and learning more secrets?

When they were asked about the vomitorium on the official forums CA said it increased a cities 'Roman' factor. I guess this means they spread civilisation..
It's on this thread, second page 6th post form the bottom.

between stuff like the vomitorium in RTW and brothels and alehouses in MTW, by the time we get to the fifth game we'll need to show I.D.
kind of makes me nostalgic for the STW, where the most offensive structure was a Catholic church.....

A civilization can be measured by the distance between one's brains and the final resting place of one's bowel movements. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif So:
Feet and inches/centimetres = barbarian.
Miles/kilometres = civilized.
Although, it has to be said, this system breaks down for anyone civilized sitting on Brighton beach... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Just something that occurred to me while I was considering new vices and virtues...
I sometimes think game development is doing funny things to my mind. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
