What faction(s) were around during any 4 campaigns that didn't make the cut to MTW:VI? I would like them to be place in somehow, replacing the rebels obviously. More factions the better imo, becasue its more historically accurate. I understand its still tuff to get em in, but we can hope http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

sweden was also a kingdom then and some historians think that in finland there was a alemann kingdom, but it hasn't been proved...

Look here for some historic maps of europe: http://www.euratlas.com/time2.htm
I guess you will find all the info you need on those maps.

Navarre and Flanders should be there. Also Some of the Knightly orders with The Teutonic order heading the list in the late period. Some of the Crusader states in high. Portugal should really be in the game. Although it had close ties with Hungary, croatia should be there at least in high. Even the Ruthenians in High or Moldavia could have made the game.
The one faction which is pointless is the Italians. Italy was broken up into many city and maritime states so why didn't we get the Venetians and Genoese instead of one state its silly and kind of lazy.

I know there was norwegian and swedish kingdoms around year 1000, so I suppose they still existed in 1087 (not sure though).

PS: I'm just wondering, though. How did he get to know Portugal. Is MTW to blame? This game rocks

Gameplay and balance with the other factions. In games like this, there's always a trade off between what would be more historically accurate, and what would make the game better, more balanced, more fun, what have you. Several smaller factions would be more accurate, but less fun, IMO.
This applies to the HRE as much as it does to Italy.

I think some of them are represented by rebels, for example the Norwegians, the Swedish, the Scots, the Welsh and the Irish, because all of these provinces start as rebels.
