I'm playing 1580 Uesugi, conquered all the east up to to the Wakasa-Owari line, only Shimazu left, and sieging 600+ Shimazu men in Owari. All provinces loyal, plenty of shinobi spread around. Lots of citadels, top upgraded provinces, about 15,000 koku a year, looks like a done deal. Then I lost a battle and my Daimyo in Ise, winter 1593 - and a huge wave of revolts in 10 provinces, all of them still showing high loyalty up to 250% ! - about half an army in each, ~4000 rebels all told. And the heir, Date Masamune, got teleported to Echigo from Owari.
Something similar ever happened to anyone ?

Here's a hint shinobi, shinobi, shinobi, shinobi, shinobi, shinobi, ad infintum... at least the end game of your campaign won't be boring http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif Wait till the resurrection of a supposedly "dead clan" pops up next. Your in for a treat.
The problem I had in utilizing dozens of shinobi was that the enemy (takeda at the time) had constant revolts in about 5 provinces a turn thanks to my shinobi - so I let this go on, assuming it was accomplishing something. Problem was - it was accomplishing something -- FOR the takeda, the uprisers fled every turn for 6 years, and by the time I got around to actually battling the Takeda, 5 of his generals were 4th rank thanks to my own shinobi starting riots that would spring up but never fight...!

"I'm sure there is, Tono, now let's go a little lighter on the sake next time, okay?"

If you keep the loyalty low in a province you can get the same effect for yourself.
Omine-san at least your new Daimyo stayed loyal and didn't go ronin http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Found the thread, thanks soly. The loyalty drop is over 300% I think, I had 250% provinces revolt and over 300% provinces show "not completely under your control". The rebels were most YA and SA though, got rid of them in a year, though at the price of Shimazu gaining a little ground and some buildings lost.
I wonder, is there a rule to buildings destroyed in conquest ? I once had my main province Echigo conquered, took it back, and only got the famous buddhist temple downgraded in the process. Other times all buildings are downgraded.
I think that depends on what the AI decides to destroy or not. There's no set rule.
