http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif First of all a big hello for all fellow MTW addictsI'd like to thank you all for all these most interesting and educative discussionsAs a new montadhoros I'm wondering about all those idle goods and resources, and the inactive income buildings, e.g. weaver.I've handled units and buildings and startpos, but what about these hidden goodies?I believe they would be a fine addition to the campaign game and somehow balance the lack of trading commodities in several provincesAnyway, most of Europe was covered by forest in those days (80% of modern day Greece actually was a mountain forest!http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif so why not build foresters and make more money, regardless of the active good wood?Has someone else thought of these potentials?Any comments, suggestions and technical advice are welcomeIf any of the senior modifiers were to read this post and provide any info I could really appreciate it, since I can't even get a lead mine to workthanks in advance http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif

Helloooooo ham&bacon. Thanks for dropping by for breakfa - er, I mean the Org. I hope our forums are to your, ah, taste. I just have to introduce you to MR EGG. We'll do breakfast sometime. Mmmmmm, breakfast...
...oh, sorry. My mind wanders sometimes. Anyway, I'm not a modder but I can't recall anyone mentioning these hidden goodies. It would be interesting to see what can be done with them. I wonder if they were left out to keep the florin income from skyrocketing higher than it can now. It might also diminish the value certain key provinces (Venice, Antioch, etc). Regardless, you certainly present an interesting possibility for a new twist to the game.
BTW, Financial modding is illegal in most countries... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif I pay my most humble respects GregoshiThanks for the warm (in a frying pan perhaps?) welcomeAs a european I never quite got over the american breakfast I had while in Chicago (a true massacre!http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif, which by the way is very hard to get here in Greece. As for finance:look at campmap/infopics/buildings and reviewpanel/buildings for weaver and such, and for missing goods at campmap/parchment/icon.Also you'll find loc/eng/names and loc/eng/desc as well as loc/eng/tooltips interesting (silk weaver!http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif.Any further comments and technical input would be apreciated http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Could you ask the big boys to look into this?

h&b, you can find your copied post in the Dungeon forum here (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=8610;r=1;&#top). You should be able to talk directly with the big boys soon. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif
BTW, when you said never quite got over that American breakfast, do you mean that in a good way or a bad way? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

:smoking:From a medical point of view (I should be studying for my Radiology I & II exams on Friday right now, but we all know that MTW is above all...) it's clear suicide. From a I-can't-get-anything-more-in-my-stomach-although-I-try point of view it was heaven on earth. My home milk & cornflakes are nowhere near thatAnyway I read the post -thanks Gregoshi- and I'll continue my one man crusade to make the finances in MTW so complex that no one can get a rich faction apart from Stephen Hawkins http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif Thanks again

On a similar note to the trade goods, I'm intrigued by the references to various workshops in the Descriptions.txt file, such as glassmakers, blacksmiths, etc. Any way of implementing these, I wonder?

(Walks in, reads the posts http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif mutters something about thank God gregoshi isn't French or he'd turn me into frogs legs )
And gregoshi wonders why he scares the newbies
We usually try to keep him sedated but he escapes and scares people. If you qualify ham&bacon you can lend a syringe to the cause http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
The unofficial advice to avoiding the famous gregoshi welcome is to try to blend in on your first post. I did and I never got a gregoshi welcome Er, come to think of it that does kind of spoil things as it is a famous part of the org ambiance.
(runs away before gregoshi can cook up frogs leg gumbo)

Shouts over rapidly retreating shoulder: What would you mod the buildings to do? Perhaps some kimd of boost to the land based non trade economy?

It's a good idea, actually... I think I'll add it to the mod I'm working on.
Each could give, say, a 26 florin bonus? You'd have different industries in different provinces.

Sorry DemonArchangel, I'm not very good eating. In fact, I taste terrible, which is why I don't suck my thumb anymore. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif
frog lady egg legg omlet, I am sorry you didn't get an official greeting from me. Not every one does. If Kukri or MonkeyMan greet some one first, my greeting is kind of redundant unless I can contribute in another way to the question/comment of the new patron. Alas, this was the case with you. Last week I had to fight for computer time so I wasn't online much. It is a long, boring story (I know because I just typed it in and deleted it). I'm just now catching up on all the threads. Actually I have yet to read your How bad are you stories after skimming the topic through 3 pages of praises for your tales. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif
Oh, and I can't eat frog. My daughter is a frog fanatic and would kill me if I did. I like frogs too, but that doesn't mean I want to croak. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif Get it? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif Frogs...daughter...kill me...croak? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif Ahem, well anyway, what I mean to say is hello frogbeastegg and welcome to the Org. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Thanks Gregoshi http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Now I feel like a real member of the org
Don't underestimate the power of the patented 'Gregoshi welcome', the org is famous for it. All new members get hordes of waving smilies and a odd post from gregoshi, it's got to the point of tradition http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
Knowing that frogs are a protected species round here I feel much safer. I was beginning to have nightmares of frog leg soup. Anyway things could get messy if anyone tried to eat a frogbeast from a frogbeastegg as they are highly explosive It's a kamikaze defence mechanism. Play thief 2 and see.
Three pages of praise? That's just a little bit of exaggeration, it was more like 7 replies There are some more on the 'warriors hold' topic Balamir started. I think those are slightly superior, even if the last one acted like the Titanic. I don't know if I should do any more though, I don't want to clutter the board with stuff no one is interested in.

Everything's under control http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif I'm back spending precious studying time in the org.My fellow modadhoros (modifier in greek) Mechstra how do you raise income for a province by 26 fiorins via buildings?Any technical input would be welcome.Oh, Gregoshi's welcome was most polite and warm (look, I'm the teacher's new pet!http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif.Frogbeastegg you do have a writer's talent (as I've read myself) and frog's eggs are truly deliciousInfact there's a town in Northern Greece (Yanena) well known for it's traditional fried frog legs.Again hi to everyoneThe quest for genius-requiring-finance-in-campaign goes on.As for that syringe, I can get you atropine, which will definately give Gregoshi a new aspect of life..... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif
Hey I never got my greeting either was it beacause I didnt give you a warm bowl of oatmeal lol

Sure you did oaty. Here (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=6785;hl=oaty) it is. Not one of my better efforts. I must have been in help mode. Or maybe that I don't like oatmeal. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
