... I already am hardly around in the STW community anymore. You can consider this as my official retirement of the game (don't say I will never play the game again, maybe on a rainy afternoon when I want to revive old memories I'll come over). This due to the fact that I think the community and STW are boring as hell, maybe you have some other oppinion but I don't think it'll ever be like in the old days again when on sunday night we had over 100 players and (it's not only about the numbers) there was a fantastic atmosphere. Whenever I log on the foyer is boring, and the games are boring. The only games most ppl are interested in are games in which they camp on a hill with 6 or more guns. A fair fight on the flat steps with or without limited gun rule doens't even come to mind with most ppl.
I wish you good luck in future and maybe we'll see each other in some other game.(eh Masky if you don't mind I already used 04b in Tactical Ops, I informed myself at the Institute of Commerce and your name was not registered as a trademark).

Well, just one week too soon to retire mate. Patch 1.02 is due any day now. You definitely will see different gameplay, I can tell ya. Pick 6 guns and you're doomed!

14 posts?
we hardly knew ye
I very rarely play multiplayer as my dad pays the phone bill and would not be happy with hours of games but just to let you know that there are people out there who prefer 'fair' maps. I can't see the fun in sitting on top of a hill raining lead onto struggling units. I like a challenge and the satisfaction of turning round a tight situation is great.

No man you can't leave. The patch 1.01 managed to solve the the ashi armies but now there are guns. Adding to the price of them won't solve anything. I would like the guns to be 175 koku but l liked how they worked in the old days where they wouldn't fire in rain. That was the the main fear of anyone who relied on guns. Also the sudden start and stop of the the rain lead to some epic battles http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
Hope they fix it.

Like Tera and me said, keep your eyes on the forums.
They won't stop firing in rain, by the way. But they'll not be the same...
Er, actually I made a last-second change to the text file that allows you to choose which missile units can fire in the rain and which can't. Muskets still fire in the rain by default, but at least you can change it for single-player campaigns and shared-file multiplayer games.

Most enlightened Erado San, it comes to my attention that we are nearly equal in number of postings.
I agree with your appraisal. I certainly will achieve kensai status within two weeks. Let us hope that Creative Assembly will release in a space of time less than "two weeks", as well.
But true mastery is not a matter merely of time, but a question of the self. Some may gain mastery quickly, while others may take much time. The end result, however, is the same. Yet, the journey fo each is different; therein lies the true meaning of mastery. No two masters complete the same journey, but noone becomes a master without a journey which has a beginning, but no end.

ah, so much to say and so many constraints on saying it ;)
lemme just say this, i played the BEST mongol vs mongol game yesterday that i've ever played. truly some great game play.
and i fully expect to see the mods forum get active again ;)
i could continue, but i see erado's and target's eyebrows raising just a bit, so, i'm outta here ;)

Yeah, Krae. I know the feeling. Like Target says there's a stat to control them firing in rain now... And then there's that other lovely thingy available now... And we can't tell them yet...
Soon guys, soon... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Is it the throne-room geisha? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
And you seem to be talking about TRUE mastery, Erado, whereas I was making reference to the kind of mastery one merely buys at the store or earns by memorising a sufficient number of canned replies to substitute in place of actual thought.
Unless you intend to delete my account as soon as I hit the magic 1000. =/
