View Full Version : Population
I thought some about population while reading MikeB's thread over at the .com forums.. and I got this idea that population growth should sort of be based on "popularity", so that nations that give their people low taxes, good sanitary etc., will be more popular. Imigration/emigration you know.. And you could order your soldiers not to let anyone out, if you had high taxes, but that in turn would reduce loyalty and/or popularity. What do you think?
Oh, a nice detail they could add as well would be crows and/or other birds feasting on the dead bodies, if there are no living soldiers close by http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hah Those books are great jLan. I can't wait for the next one to come out...isn't it supposed to be soon?
I really like the idea of immagration, the only problem being that this would be another thing that unfairly biases towards the bigger factions who have greater flexibility in reducing taxes and building stuff like public baths.
Of course if it was implemented this would be another way for the player to do a fine balancing act between pleasing his populace (and thereby inticing immigrants) and the need to tax citizens and draft soldiers for outward expansion.
My thought exactly http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
