hmm, newbieness, well i hate it but u gotta play for a while before u get out of it i spose, no way round it *sigh* http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
anyway, now for the im sure painful question hehe, how do u retrain units? and does retraining restock the units with men aswell? or what does it do? it has to do something so :P please tell http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
thx loads in advance http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
I'm going to start charging a fee for this,sigh....
First move your army into the province you want to train in,ie that would be the one where you have your training Dojos exc.
Wait one turn.
Click on the training menue at bottom left of you screen.
Click on your army.
Select the the unit icon, and drag it over to the training menue, dropping it into one of the vacant windows,by holding down your left mouse button.
There you go,end turn, click on your castle and voila, your newly trained army should be there waiting for you further instructions.
Retraining will restock your depleted units.
And if you have built any up grades in that province, you newly trained unit will receive the improved benefits.
However exsample, if you don't have an armoury, you won't be able to up grade heavy calvary or nagiata.
Any other question, don't be afraid to ask. Theres a few wankers here, but most are very willing to help.

And yes is does restock you units although this can obviously lower your overall honour for that unit depending on how many are replaced and what honour they were in the first place.

units won't always be restocked, ie you can upgrade armour and weapons on cav in a province without a cav dojo, but it won't be reinforced

Cat is right. This is, in itself, a very useful thing, especially if you choose to play a clan which does not have any armouries in its starting territories, but you capture a province with armoury capability later on and want to buff up the high-honour units you produce in your start provinces.

with all the people asking this quesiton... why don't we make a special section in this website about retraining???
Ain't this a good idea Mr. Webmaster?

About twelve million years ago, there was a forum-made FAQ that ended up about twenty pages long. We really should do another one, just including the Warlord updates, patches, and manual-errors/omissions.
So... who's got too much time on their hands?
