Does anyone Have some shields?

Does anyone have some shields that can be used in a new mod of Europe? I suck at the whole art part of modding and need some shields for the factions I am working on.

So far, I am about 50% dine with a mod that will add the following factions to the MTW Early campaign:

welsh
scots
mercian
irish
bohemian
flemish
swedes (possible)
portugese (possible)

and possibly 2 others if I can think of any. I have the Welsh, Scots, Mercians and Irish looking good since they have shields in the Viking era, but I am having trouble with the other shields. If anyone can help, or show me where I can get a few shields, or even ideas for 2 other factions they would like to see, please let me know.

BTW, the mod (once it gets done) starts in 1066 with the "English" faction based in Normandy and Wessex with the Welsh in Wales the Mercians in Mercia and N-Umbria and the Scots in Scotland so there will have to be an actual battle for England.

The Bohemians are planned to be a heretic faction with two new agents, the Reformer (Bishop) and another one to take the place of the Cardinal.

I uploaded a BMP plate (512x512 pixels) many months ago that offered a good variety of shield images for use in replacing the existing MTW shield images (as contained within the BIFs). The plate contained 46 diffeent shield images.

I can't find it now in the downloads area(s) at the "Org". Look for something called "shield examples" in the various download areas. If you can't find it then post your E-mail address in this thread and I'll sedn them to you. No guarentee they suit your purposes

Sorry can't help you there ... though I have a good portion of shields but they are on a totally different era ... I think I can help you with the Scottish one ... I have seen it somewhere. It is an excellent round wooden shield with an iron rim and a spike in the centre. I will see what I can do...

On this one I think you are the person to answer ... how I can define that a specific unit will get the faction emblem on its shield? (like the Order foot or the knights)

DemonArchangel, any help with flags and shields will be appreciated. If it is left to me, everyone new will use VI flags

If anyone happens to have any other ideas as to factions they would like to see added, or any units they feel are glaring omissions, let me know and I can see if I can add them in.

err Komnios the "excellent Scottish" shield you are refering to is actually the default rebel shield http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

Wellington I like to think I am pretty good with graphics (others may beg to differ). I have made a full set of sheild graphics, buildings, battle flags (and in some cases Glory Goal parchment bifs) for Bohemia and Flanders (which you have mentioned) you can swipe them from my First Crusade mod.

I did'nt appreciate you already had good images for specific nations/factions (eg - Bohemia and Flanders).

As an aside, considering the number of people who are creating new mods for MTW, it would be great if (over time) people could upload to the Org complete "sets" of images pertaining to a faction/time-period.

Such "sets" may well comprise several BMPS - each BMP comprising potential weapon/shield/flag images and other images for such and such a faction for such and such a time period.

Such images could be collected from none-Copyrighted images on the web and/or from new images created by those gifted souls who have the means/expertise/interest in creating such a "set" of related images.

Then, anyone who is creating a specific mod would have some "image resource packs" that they could download and utilise for their new mod - should they choose to do so. If sufficient different images existed in such "sets" (allowing a varied choice for modders) then you would'nt necessarily have similar mods with similar images. Also, the time taken to create some mods would reduce accordingly.

Different modders have different skills/interests. A completely new mod really requires many skills in many areas. As the process of creating a completely new MTW mod encompasses such varied areas - some areas pertaining to graphical images for factions would presumably be made easier if this modding forum had downloads pertaining to a whole range of various images for a faction/period.
