Upgrading thru retraining question

I am unable to upgrade a unit that already had been upgraded.

ie. 1armor MAA cannot be retrained to 2armor MAA. But an ordinary MAA can.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

That is odd. If the province can train the units then units trained (or re-trained) in the province will receive the armour available in the province. Maybe the building for the armour upgrade wasn't completed yet?

The building has been upgraded. I am unable to drag the unit into the training box. New units get the upgrades. I've tried years later with different units and upgrades.

So its working perfectly well for you then?

I'm pretty sure you're doing something wrong. It works for me too.

Make sure your unit to be retrained is standing in the right province (it mustn't have moved) and make sure you can build the unit you want to retrain.

The only other explanation is, that you want to retrain mercenaries - that can't be done.

Drag and drop the unit into the fort, then drag and drop in the training queue. Don't know why this works when it won't go in from outside the fort.
